The SYFY Channel is bringing out a new TV series. In the 1960s a group of families is launched into space on a spacecraft called Ascension. The plot seems to resemble Glen A Larson's Adam's Ark. Adam's Ark became Battlestar Galactica.

That crossed my mind when I saw the promo. I'm happy Syfy is trying to come back to making something with an element of quality. Don't know how it will turn out, but I will at least give it a try. Hope they get some good programs and good results.

Yeah, David. I'm curious about it as well. I wonder if Glen Larson is involved with it? I hope it is good.

Curious choice of the name - "Ascension". In Mormon lore, once humanity advances enough through study, meditation and discipline, our species is supposed to ascend to a god-like status, much like the beings on the Ship of Lights. "As you are now, we once were - as we are now, you may become", or something to that effect. This may very well be loosely tied to BSG. Color me intrigued...

Or an album name by British trance music group space boys, or an astronomical navigation term..
