For those interested, here is the first photo I could find of the Moebius G prototype (at WonderFest 2013) for release next year.

Needless to say, I'm ecstatic. It looks REALLY good!

A new close-up pic (http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z156/Thome216/Thome-A/798318_622428414464132_1084870904_o_zpsfa96f796.jpg) has surfaced of the TOS-G "alligator head" on Moebius' FaceBook page. While I think the surface etching is a little stark, it still appears highly accurate and lovingly made. The 35 year wait is almost over...

CultTVMan (http://www.culttvmanshop.com/Classic-Battlestar-Galactica-from-Moebius--PREORDER-RESERVATION_p_2516.html) has them up for pre-order at around $55 ea. I've reserved 3 for myself. :D

New update: New pics of the finished model (http://culttvman.com/main/?p=30683).
Aside from the heavily inscribed hull lines (which look to be in the final production version), this thing is positively beautiful! Well worth the wait.

The stand concerns me - while I love the design on it, it seems awfully small to support something with such a high center of gravity. It doesn't look like it would take much to knock the model over along the long axis, in either direction. I think I'll have to get one of those wider wooden bases from Michael's or something to shore up the support, as I do want to keep the base design.
The grid lines seem palatable, once painted in a common color, however, provided they're not over-weathered. A welcome realization.

I'm saving for a 37" Galactica.
Much easier to light. :)

That ship is gorgeous. of course with Galactica, bigger is always better. i've actually come to the forum looking for a highly detailed CGI mesh of the big G - does anyone have a recommendation of which one is best?

There have been a couple under construction in other threads here that appear to be extremely accurate - the best I've seen anywhere. As far as I know, neither are complete, unfortunately, and very little activity appears to have been done on either for about a year.

Thanks for the reply, Gebrig.
I was hoping at least one of those would be complete. Hopefully that will happen soon!
Best Regards
