I am posting this because I am unsure if I will add any more or do more with it.
Though I originally wanted to include a much larger scale battle tween ships
When the Atlantia Arrives. Also, Story markers or lines, voice, is hard to
make do what you want it to do..... STS heheh,,, anyhowse....
This is the latest I have uploaded.
But, Since I got a comment on YT bout my video, CGI, and why no one posts replys on my CG stuff on certain
forums, I have lost all motivation and desire. And since he claims to be in the industry of 15 years, His suggestion was I also
get a new hobby.
So I have not done anything for bout 2 weeks, and this was the last update.
May be the final.
Part III (as is)

Randal does indeed do a great job with his stuff! :)

Who is this "YT"? Would love to see that comment, as trying to DISCOURAGE someone is NOT the proper way.
Things don't happen over-night, man. Keep working on more stuff. Hell... my early stuff is extremely laughable to look at. So are some of the other artists I have been associated with, both pro and amateur.
Just do NOT give up because someone else said you should.

That was very cool! There are some shots in the edit where I would cut away a bit sooner... tighten it up. And there are definitely points where you've got that hand held look for the space battles just right. I also like the missile pods in the Raider intakes. Especially since it never seemed like (from the TOS models) that they were intakes. They had things in front.

All around good stuff there, Randal. :)
I liked the occasional lens flare you managed to get out of this...something I had to make a physical prop for in iClone.
I, as David did, also liked the missile racks where the Cylons would probably have intakes.

I finally had a chance to watch these, and I like. Don't stop working, creating, and learning just because some dweeb doesn't want the competition.

Randal, you're not alone in wondering why more folks don't post some encouragement at the forums, where we try to entertain our friends. But, as was pointed out, and I certainly understand it, lots of folks who are tracking what we do are not budding animators and modelers like you, Dave, Darrell, Taranis, Matador, Muaddib, and myself are. (or pros, who've actually worked on Galactica, like Don). Sometimes those who watch, but perhaps don't comment just yet, feel as if the best they can say is "nice job" or "keep it up", but I'm sure that they'd like to be able to say something they felt was more substantial, but just can't at that point. So, we just keep going and going, until we can come up with something that wows them to such a point that they do feel they must respond, and with more than just "nice job" or "keep it up". :) (God, I hope that didn't come out wrong.)
As for this YT arse-hat, pay him no mind. I have detractors too, and some of my videos have even gotten a couple of "dislikes" or "thumbs down" on the YouTube channel...thankfully, they aren't as numerous as the "likes" or "thumbs up"....but we just have to remember, we can't please everyone. :)
Which video did he make his discouraging comment on? I've been searching your channel, but can't seem to find it yet.

There is a lot of negativity in the world. We as human's alway's are first to judge before really knowing what the hell were even talking about. I have been critiqued by many over my years as an artist and the most damaging critiques come from those who have never attempted to do what you have just done. Let them pick up and spend 15 plus years learning a modeling and animation package and let's see how they fair in the end. If you really look at the industry it's broken up between modelors, animators and compositors not to mention story board people AND concept artist's. Very rarely do you find artist's that do it all. I for one base my work on modeling. I can animate and texture but will be the first one to tell you it's not my cup of tea.
When you post something in most cases you go away discouraged. I have done away mostly of posting on web sites my own work because in most cases it just set's you up to be disappointed. Or in my case i often find my work being posted on other websites without my consent. Again i have other's that have my back and i am grateful for those that watch out for other's.
In the end it's what YOU LIKE and that's all that truely count's. If i decide to critique it's when an artist's post's asking for specific feedback. But i alway's have found positive in anyone's work good or bad. Anyone that try's has already impressed because it takes a lot of work to understand these programs. Hell i have been told to do things over again so many times i forget that this was supposed to be enjoyable!
Keep up the work and what i just seen was fun to watch....to hell with those that think any less.
:)

I am so Pleased......
That so many of you posted, :D
I typically do not receive any attention LOL,, as most will
attest that they have experienced the same also....
I wished I could do more, better or whatever, but am just a
Disabled Amercan Vet trying to Recapture some of my awe and inspiration
from the original show. Since Delving into 3d apps, I just wished I knew WT frack I was doing....
But, Since I have been doing this just over 2 years, I think you can expect more in the future.
YT= YouTube
And my last words to that fella were
You are a liar, aint no way he is an industry artist just by looking at some of
his CG vidz.... so, it gave me a break from it for a spell, because I do become obsessive about making a short..... :D
Thanks ALL...
Regards,
Randal R.

I'm still learning too, Randal, believe me.
Hell, your stuff looks far more photorealistic than what I've been doing, of course, I've been dabbling in toon styled stuff. My photorealistic models are finally starting to show up though. :)
Just keep it up. We all support you and your vision! :)
And, from one ex-soldier to another, thank you for your service to our nation! :salute:
