Has this happened to you recently? It happens to me all the time. I am watching a show on TV, and someone or something strikes me (song, actor/actress) and I think, I will just wait till the credits roll by and then I'll know who did that wonderful thing in this show. Finally the credits begin rolling, and MADDENINGLY they SQUISH them horizontally or vertically so badly you cannot /possibly/ read them! Just so they can crowd in a 2-bit advertisement I could care less about.
TV is so much like life it's scary. I'm sure there is some legal thing that requires they show the credits. But they crush them on the screen so badly there is no possible way you could read them, thus defying the intent.
Remaking BSG is a lot like squishing the credits. BSG is a tremendous property because of the people that made it great - the actors, the costume designer, the theme music creator, and so on. With a re-imagining we are just squishing all these people out and defying the intent of what BSG was always meant to be.
When you squish something, you squeeze out almost everything that makes it what it is. Give credit to whom credit is due. Continue BSG with the people in its credits, and do what you know in your heart is right.
