I have been doing a LOT of siggie requests. And so doing am learning
a lot of things lil more rapidly than trying to do a CGI short.

This actually started out -- I was going to use a starship (Star Trek)
to Laser beam the text as it writes.

I can still do it maybe another time, another way.

Threw in D. Kerin,
H. Gibbens Vipers. Using Gibbens viper,Kerins cockpit I melded them to make a All in one ready viper for my BSG shorts and used it in this.

-FYI-
I am Also Thunderstruck, but have always used QH forever just for pass and login reasons. Am no longer hunting Queens :rotf:

Thanks, I really like this one myself.

Thinks me will keep this one for awhile :D

Be nice if it were allowed here. It is 176 frames and only 1.3 Mb
and is hosted on another. Most forums you just link the image, but seems to be not allowed.

Agreed- some go overboard with them, but this place seems to be
more mature than most.

They can be cluttery but also nice touches.

how did you do the Viper exhausts

I used in C4d parallel spot lights.

for each engine there are 2 lights.

One is the exhaust like cone. parallel spot using falloffs to make the cone.
Other is same but with added noise animated to create the effect.

I have also used an omni light (visible)shaped just like I do for the laser beams
used this way on Cylon Encounter on my viper model

using several in different ways made a nice exhaust in that video too.

Using lens flares is something I am having difficulty getting a grasp on.
but just got optical flares also for After Effects.
And was surprised it involves all the same tinkering and tedious scaling, sizing, brightness adjustments that is required in c4d for a moving object, but it has some really good presets.

I have not used lens flare much at all. But I did on what I am postin in a new thread.

but c4d setup for lens flares is hard to figure out what what means if you know what i mean LOL

does this help? if you need more info am happy to help.
