Nice! :)
I take it that for the Galactica, you actually managed to get the extra detailed sides ordered in? The Galactica model at the time had practically no detail at all along the side walls.

No, I'm cashy-poor, so I thrashed that detail together from loose bits & pieces from old model leftovers & carved tree pieces. I also *painted* the separation between the 2nd landing bay struts & the lower conduits because I figured at this level of detail, who cares? To do it well, it'd have to be at least 3 feet long, and the old Revell model is just a little over a foot and a half.
But maybe, when I'm bored enough...

Here's more of the detail I cobbled together on the Revell model:

Whoah, I just went wild today & totally finished all the missing detail on my Galactica, AND gave it a new (partial) paint job!

Unfortunately, my camera washes out the look of the ship- it's much more textured than it appears here, but this is the best picture I could get.

Thank you!
Recycled Battlestar on a budget... but it worked out nicely.
I'm just wondering why Revell did a 30th anniversary Viper & NOT a Galactica?????

Nice weathering there! :)
I studied hundreds of screencaps & photos of the original props & mock-ups to come to this version. My next one will lighter in colour with much thinner lines to reflect what it looks like in on-screen FX after all the optical wash-out.
I'm a completist.

Wow...how many Vipers do you have? :D
On the table picture above you can see the Viper I just made, the old one I made back in '78, two papercraft Vipers, and a die-cast black Viper from the New BSG series. AND, I have one more new Revell model coming in the mail!
You see, it really IS my favourite model of all time. :salute:

The way the light's hitting the back of the Galactica, it almost looks like her engines are aglow. :D

One of the few good things about the blinding flash on my camera...;)
Another try without the flash:
