well I just signed up for the final classes I need to take for my degree. I only needed 7 credits but I decided on taking 9 credits instead! I'm very confident that I'll be graduating next May!

Arlene,
This thought just occurred to me -- are you aware of the federal tax credits for continuing education?

Here's some information about the American Opportunity Tax Credit --

This credit came into play in 2009. Prior to that were the Hope Scholarship Credit and Lifetime Learning Credit. I'll also get the links for those.

These are all listed in IRS Publication # 970.

Good!!
If you find out that you haven't claimed the credit, check your school receipts. You should have been sent a 1098-T form, from the school, which would have listed all the applicable charges like tuition, lab fees, etc, etc. From those charges, deduct any scholarships and grants which you may have gotten. Then, you'd work with what was left. If you didn't get the form(s), contact the school and have them re-send forms for each of the years attended.
The nice thing is that you'd be able to file amended returns, in order to claim the tax credit.

looked into it and we aren't able to do that.
On a brighter note, last full day of classes is Dec. 13th. Then its exams and I can close the book on this semester!

Thanks very much. Next monday is the start of classes and I already have an assignment for my English class to do. I have to read one of the 11 books we had to have for the class and take notes on the book!
