Ok... I just saw the trailer for the new "Karate Kid". I thought I had read somewhere they were changing the name of it, because it isn't Karate the kid is learning, but Kung Fu instead.

They call it a remake, but the story is different, the characters names are different... so how is it a remake?

I look forward to seeing this, but not as "Karate Kid". Rather, in my mind, it'll be "Kung Fu Kid".

If the names are different I'll be able to watch it. If I once hear anyone call Jackie Chan "Mr. Miyagi" I'm out. I love the original far too much to see it shot full of holes. The story is totally different which is cool but it will be on really thin ice with me.

Even though they are calling it a remake, it's not. The only thing from the original is the title, and a nod or two from the original, but in good taste. Have you seen the trailer?

It looks good. Just don't think of it as a remake, cuz it's really not.

I've been shying away from the trailer a bit truthfully. This is good news though, I'll watch it if they're doing more of a related story. Thanks for the heads up!
