I cannot think of the name of this actress at all.

The only things that I can remember is that she would have been in a country show, likely a comedy, and was something on the order of Minnie Pearl but, shorter. Her voice was the most memorable thing to me...and not for good reasons. When she spoke, it was kind of similar to high-pitched squawking.

I know this isn't much to go on but, this actress is one that I think most of us have seen in one show or another. I just cannot think of her name.

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

:)

Not really, only that she would likely have been in her late 50's to 60's when I saw her on tv. I think she had glasses, always wore a dress and had her handbag with her. The more I think about it, she was probably a cross between Irene Ryan (Granny Clampett) and Minnie Pearl.

I'm not sure if this is who I'm thinking about or not:

Her name is Merie Earle and she played a character named "Maude Gormley" on "The Waltons".

Here's a link to her page at imdb.com --

Are you thinking of Katherine Milner?
Katherine Milner was the original "Little Old Lady from Pasadena" in the Dodge commercials in Los Angeles in 1963. When Jan & Dean redid "Little Old Lady" as a video in the 1980s, Merie Earle played her.

There's the obvious, Frances Bavier (and all of Aunt Bea's friends!). Or maybe Madge Blake?

It was Merie Earle. :)

Trying to figure out who she was, really threw me for a loop. Thanks to all, for your assistance.

Now, you might be wondering, "Why?"

Well, you see, I work in a call center and just the other day, I was talking to a nice little old lady from the Midwest (can't remember if it was Indiana or Illinois) and she sounded EXACTLY like Merie Earle. It was all that I could do to keep a straight face and help her, with her questions. I just kept picturing this actress, squawking about something or another, with every word that my customer spoke. It was one of the more amusing calls that I've gotten in some time.

Thanks again....

:)
