I'm looking for some good screencaps of the painted images of the reptilian Cylons from the intro to that one telemovie.
For school, we have to create a humanoid in 3D Max, and I'd like to try that reptilian since I've already done the traditional human.
Any help in securing these images would be greatly appreciated!

No, but that's a cool image.
For one of the telemovies, there was an intro with painted slides that told the story of the origins of the Cylons. Those paintings depicted the original reptilian cylons.

Here's a description of that scene from the telemoive, and a small cropped copy of the painted reptilian cylon that appeared in it.

I think Bishop has a copy of this on youtube, but I don't know if he has any screencaps.

No, I'm glad you posted the Imperius leader pics, never saw that detailed mask before.
The reptilian cylon paintings leave alot of detail to the imagination, so I may try to incororate that Imperious Leader's scale pattern if I have time in class.
Thanks!

JJ, having never watched this thing all the way through I did skip to the end credits and it does give you the name of the artist who created the paintings.

Well, there is a website for him, and it the work does appear to have the same style:

Looks like he did artwork for The Sting too.
There's an e-mail and phone number, I suppose we could contact him.

That sounds like a great idea. It would be great to see his art and a interview on something like GALACTICA.TV.

The images of Imperious Leader mask are from my collection and were published here: Who Created the Imperious Leader? (http://www.galactica.tv/battlestar-galactica-1978---news/who-created-the-imperious-leader.html), in case you're looking for bigger scale of those. There are also several more cool aliens published in the October 1978 Future Magazine of which several were used in the pilot (article is also copied in the Imperious Leader article as mentioned above).
As a follow up on this article Dorleac e-mailed me saying he designed the Imperious Leader. The images he then showed me weren't very convincing. They were recently fabricated costume sketches by him that suggest he was the creator of both The Imperious Leader as well as the Cylon. I do believe he made the costume for the Imperious Leader, but certainly not the mask and I still don't believe he designed the Cylon costume. ;)
@Jim: Thanks for the heads up.

I don't know if you already knew it, but if you want to know more about the origin of the Cylons, you have to read the "Dark Genesis" storyline, which was published by Realm Press.
It features plenty of pictures of the repitilian Cylons as well... ;)

PS: Thanks again to Galactifan for uploading it in pdf!
