Dangerous. Some kids have attempted this in themselves. Pay close attention. Menthos and coke inside of you is a guaranteed funeral. You don't burst like a balloon, but you will rupture something internally and you will DIE.

Well all chemistry is electromagnetic!

The answer is surface tension or the coulomb force in water. Its that same thing I've been showing you these past experiments.

And what does this have to do with chemistry? Coulomb forces hold liquids together but are so weak that they cannot affect flow! Gravity and angular momentum of a large mass is stronger!

Solid steel is heavier than water. However coulomb forces can cause sufficient surface tension to float a paper clip. Watch what happens when some JOY(TM) enters the equation and fouls up the local charge orientations and states in that metallic alloy.

Even when they know what they are doing, Human beings have to be careful with the simple stuff. Dry ice is simple.
The lesson is that dry ice can kill you.

Get the point? I work with dangerous stuff every day. Handling it is boring dull and repetitive step by step procedure-based on the long experience by every goofball who has hurt or killed himself before me. But if you don't stay alert and do the procedures bn the numbers, you will DIE.
It helps you; if you understand why you don't pour into a fire for example.

This kid was peppered with plastic spall and had deep cuts and bits of plastic embedded into his face.
None of this is funny or hilarious. One of these ten people you just saw DIED as a result of his injuries.
The point is that you need to learn what your chemistry is so that you do not accidentally mix household chlorine and vinegar or ammonia together and kill yourself with poison gas or put baking soda and salt and another chemical (vinegar again) in the wrong proportions and blow yourself up.
Read your warning labels, and if you don't understand, DON'T USE. Its no shame to ask for help either from somebody who does know. Any age or any person, ignorance of something can kill you. LEARN.

Fructose, iron oxide and potassuium nitrate, called an R-candy. It ddn't blow up. means this gonzo has tried at least a half dozen static starts or test firings and hasn't lost his hands so he's just becoming confident enough to try stupid.
Note that he is too close to the rocket?

Don't sneer at these guys. Their rocket outperformed expectations by at least one order of magnitude. Simplyn incredible that they masted a compound boost to suatainer motor is a single candle. We didn't fihgure out how to do that for war rockets until about twenty years ago and these guys duplicated it on their own just by trial and error?

Another pair of big kids. They don't allow guns in Australia but apparently any NUT can get hold of a jet engine and rig it up in his back yard. That big engine is a BOMB. If it failed it would take everything within 150 feet with it straight to blazing glory.
How smart those two geniuses are can be seen from the one guy walking across the exhaust plume of that RR Derent.
