I gave up on "Kings" halfway through the third episode. I soooo wanted to like this show but it just has too many flaws.
I thought the premise was wonderful and original and wish it could have worked.
I know a little about the story of David (Goliath, Uriah's wife, Solomon, etc.) but never paid attention to the finer details.
There were two things about Kings that bothered me. For one thing, the story kept jumping, leading me to wonder if other scenes had been filmed and then not included. The characters would talk about something that had happened, or something that someone said that totally screwed up the political situation, but I never saw it happen! Was I blinking and missing them that much?
Also, the characters' conversations reminded me too much of a certain series that shall remain nameless, not to mention that I was unable to empathize with anyone in Kings (or THAT OTHER show), both reasons which made me give up on it.
