Congrats on the win, I'm sure that it's well deserved. Is there a website or something about this?

Thanks, guys.
NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is a month-long contest held each November. The goal is to write 50,000 words within the month. If you hit it, and you verify the word count before midnight on November 30, you win.
This year, I won.
The website is www.nanowrimo.org.
I dedicated my participation this year to the memory of my friend, Janet Kagan, who passed away this last March 1. As a tribute, I wrote (well, am writing, since it's not complete but I've got 50,266 words of it written) a sequel to her TOS Star Trek book, "Uhura's Song" (one of the better Star Trek books).
So I had a little extra incentive to win.
Thanks!

When did you start the story? Oct. 2003?

When did you start the story? Oct. 2003?
Ha! And again, Ha!
;)
I started this story at about 7:30 a.m. on November 1, 2008. I could only write a couple of lines right then because Mrs. Dawg and I had a previous engagement that day.
I play by the rules.

I've competed in all but two since that time, and this is the first win. I've had some legitimate roadblocks several of those years that prevented my win (and last year didn't do it at all). This year I had incentive and a good story to build on.
It's fun and challenging to do this, particularly challenging if your time is otherwise taken up with work or other priorities. Fortunately, Mrs. Dawg supported me in this and even though she was fighting a bug she made sure I was able to put in some time every day.
So I encourage anybody who is up to that challenge to join me next year.
I might write a western.....
