blender is a great program like it doesnt come close to maya or max but i use it often there used to be a site called Blendergalactica but its went offline

BLender is a great program. but it tends to confuse folks at first. theres little you can do with 3dmax and others that you cant do with Blender. at least as far as I know of.

they also have some really good tutorials. anyway best of luck to those who decide to grab blender and start modeling.

Blender is getting a lot of good press among the cgi community esp as it a free program where you cannot go wrong there,

there are a lot of BSG models at Sci-fi meshes all low poly and will be quick for rendering IN 3DS format . but not for close up shots

blender is great. thats all I used these days. so far I can import/export every major format. hope you guys have fun using it too.
