It appears that the 6th movie, in the series, is currently "In Production" and is due for release -- November 21, 2008!

Check the details here. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0417741/)

Checked out some pictures of HBP on www.mugglenet.com --

and then, checked out some of the film details, i.e., cast, etc, here (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417741/)

and didn't realize the connection between HP and Narnia.

Professor Horace Slughorn in HP is the same actor who played Professor Kirke in Narnia-Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe; Professor Flitwick is the same actor who played Nikabrik in Narnia-Prince Caspian.

Don't go looking or you'll get it spoiled. Some people unfortunately really get off on that. Its happened to me. That was actually my inspiration to read the books. I had major spoilers dumped on me for the fourth and fifth movies the day I was going to see the midnight premier. For those who haven't read the books, all bets are off as to who lives and who dies past book five.

Agreed. That was part of my motivation for finally reading the series, last summer, after Deathly Hallows was released. I knew that in a few short years, the movies would be out and I wanted to 'see' the action in print before watching it in a theater.

I often like to get into books more than the movie. I do like movies. But, when you're reading a book you tend to use your imagination more.

It bums me out that the movie is pretty much finished (meant for release in November) and we have to wait for it! Looks like its up against Transformers again, just like the last one. There are some good movies coming out this spring and summer!

Apparently there is a new trailer out that is pretty cool. I haven't seen it yet though.

It is really cool....and I have to say, it looks much more intense than that for just a PG rated movie, which apparently this movie has gotten. I'm disappointed that it won't be PG-13, because the novel is rather intense.

Check the following link for the HBP trailers released thus far:

(At the bottom of the page, you'll find links to trailers for the five previous HP movies.)

Agreed. This chapter of the story will likely be the most powerful thus far. There's probably more action in this movie than the 5 previous movies combined.

I'm hoping they don't cut down any of the action. They cut quite a bit out of the battle at the ministry in the fifth film. Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie. The action in HBP is quite a step up and really sets the tone for what comes next. Lets keep our fingers crossed!

Hopefully, the production team will learn from the mistakes made on OOTP. In my opinion, that movie was the weakest of the five produced thus far. It could have been so much better.

Yeah, I loved the film but I hadn't read the books yet when I saw it. In a way I'm glad because if I had read the book first I would have been severely disappointed by the movie. So much of that end fight was cut out!

I've heard rumors of certain things being cut out of the sixth film but I'm waiting to see it before I pass any judgment. I really do want to like the movie so I'll probably cut it some slack even if they do cut stuff.

I too confess a slight disappointment with OOtP as a movie.

For one thing, the book (OOtP) was far longer than the previous book, Goblet of Fire, and yet, OOtP is the shortest of the Harry Potter movies....so it felt a lot more rushed.

As I understand it, the seventh book, when made into a movie, will actually be a two-parter.

Correct. I may have to go back and re-read TDH to figure out where they will split it.

That is the big debate right now amongst fans I guess. My vote (without giving any major plot points away...) would be to end it at Godric's Hollow.

Don't know why, but if I were to split the story, it would probably be here:

When Ron gets angry and disapparates, leaving Hermione and Harry in their tent. Hermione desperately goes after him in the heavy rain, and realizes he disapparated....comes back in, soaking wet, and sobs "He's disapparated. He's gone!" Camera follows her to her sleeping bag, as she sobs, then focuses on the final shot of Harry, looking pensive and frustrated at the turn of events.

I 'hate' having to wait! At least though I'll be seeing the transformers movie tomorrow!
