I've converted a LW Mk 2 to MAX, I'll have to ask Sean Kennedy (Treybor), who built it, if it would be ok to distribute it, but I don't see Sean having a problem with that, he might allow me to upload it here as well, I'll get back to you on his decision as soon as I can.
Cheers

He is a really nice bloke, so I can't see him having a problem with me releasing this, as long as I make sure all the credit he's due for the model is in the read-me.
Here's a pic of the MAX version anyway

Hey thats nice of you to do that. When I didnt get much repsponse at a few sites, I decided to convert one myself. Out of the two available, I picked Seans as well. Though I radically retextured it, aminly cause the maps that came with it didnt match up in the conversion to well. I look forward to having a play with yours. What program did you use. I tried polytrans, but got someting quite strange, and deep exploration didnt export maps uvs. Cheers buddy and thanks so much.

Deep Exploration with MAX 5 for the conversion, I also had a few problems with the textures too, but with a bit of trial & error, (and a lot of help from the MAX guys over at Sci-Fi Meshes too), I managed to sort it out.
I've sent Sean a message asking if I can release this, but I've not heard back from him yet.

yeah, I have more sucess with Deep E myself.Would love to know what you did in order to get the textures to export better...........................or was it a max issue. Also, Mike wirhgt at sci fi meshes has uploaded his viper mk2 as well.............though it hasnt appeared as yet. Looking forward to seeing yours buddy.

It was the UV mapping that went wrong, the textures are just that, images, but a lot of the UV mapping info went totally out of the window, the model you see here was the 3rd attempt, the first was a 3DS version, totally usless, every poly had o be tripled, the second a OBJ version, it kept all it's UV info, but looked a mess in MAX, the final version was a straight LW to MAX conversion, not as bad as the others but still needed a stack of work.
,MAX isn't a very friendly program when it comes to importing or exporting stuff, wil jaspers Cylon took 3 weeks to convert to LW, and once I'd rebuilt a few bits 30 to 40 minutes to convert to a Poser file from LW.
MAX isn't a program I like or feel comfortable using, so therefore I've never really learnt to used it, which is probably 90% of the problem in my case

Sorry it's been so long, the REAL WORLD, or (excuse the language) WORK as it can be sometimes called, decided to rear it's ugly head and keep me from doing fun stuff, I've just got home, and I'm out again in the early hours so I'm aiming to get everything zipped up and uploaded tomorrow after I finish.

I've uploaded the model to the Downloads section, I think it's just a matter of waiting for the file to be processed now
