Frank Frazetta painting. I think it was used in the LPotG TV guide ads.

I've yet to see the painting of the "Galactica" that was in Adama's quarters in several episodes itself?

From afar it looks like Frazetta's work, but i can't tell to be sure if it is his? This painting of the Galactica or be it bulky looking Battlestar can be seen in Saga Of A Starworld, Gun on Ice Planet Zero, War of the Gods etc mainly. It wasn't however always there.

Has anyone ever seen it online as a picture anywhere's?

I do remember this picture. You are correct, jewels, about it being a TV guide add for LPotG.

There is another one Mr. Frazetta did for Galactica. I think it was also in a TV Guide add, but can't be completely sure (SoaSW?). I do know it was used for the cover for the paperback book of "The Cylon Death Machine" which was a novelization of GoIPZ. It shows apparent representations of Apollo, Starbuck and, I believe it to be Athena on a planet surface looking up at Cylon Raiders flying overhead with guns drawn (Apollo seems to be holding a rifle.). On the back it shows an artist rendition of a Battlestar in orbit above said planet.

The picture in Adama's quarters was something I always dreamed of getting my hands on. I thought it rocked! Even a Litho would suffice. I don't know what ever became of that picture though. Perhaps someone else can shed some light.

Thats what i'm talking about. How come its never been seen online at all, there's tons of Galactica things that have surfaced over the years since the advent of the internet. Was the original Galactica painting of Adama's destroyed? I mean who'd want to destroy that piece of beautiful art anyways? But i do know it certainly hasn't been seen online in any shape or form. Only way to see it today is to use the "zoom" feature on your DVD remote in any scene it happens to be in the BG episodes.

Probably still hanging on someones wall, after they 'saved' it as a momento after TOS was cancelled. They had to know it was valuable, Frazetta was a well established artist at the time!!

Given time, it might surface.

Cheers,

I have all of the TV Guide ads for BG so I can confirm that the one you've posted was indeed for LPotG--part one, in fact. Part two depicted a Tombs of Kobol scene that never actually happened: Adama, Apollo and Serina in a misty, creepy tomb in front of two guys who look like either executioners or "barbarian" warriors in general. The text reads "The ancient Tombs of Kobol hold two mysteries for the galactic adventurers... A secret which could light their way forward... A curse which could destroy them all!" Part one's text reads "Pursued by alien Cylons, Battlestar Galactica...its men struck down by a deadly plague...is defended only by a heroic squadron of women warriors!"

The other one that CBSG4ever mentioned (with Apollo, Starbuck and presumably Athena) was actually for the premiere episode/movie. Text reads "The Last Battlestar Galactica Leads A Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet On A Lonely Quest For A Shining Planet Known As...Earth!"

I think Frazetta did the WotG ad(s), too. Starbuck, Apollo and Sheba stand before Iblis (although it looks NOTHING like the TV Iblis) while in the background lightning crackles, a tornado stirs up dust, and the balls of lights shoot overhead. The ad for part one was 5"x5" and the ad for part two was just a scaled down version, 5"x3". Text reads (resp.) "The mysterious Count Iblis...will his awesome powers guide the people of Galactica forward...or destoy them?" and "Count Iblis is unmasked in a spectacular final confrontation that reaches beyond the stars!"

And if anyone cares, there were TV Guide ads for the following eps but all were photos:

LL (Pt. 1, I think), with the text "Adama engages in a fierce conflict with the hot-blooded commander of another battlestar, who's obsessed with leading both ships in a suicidal attack on the Cylons."

TTC, with the text "Starbuck's deadliest enemy turns out to be the girl he once loved!"

YL, with the text "Starbuck crash lands on a strange planet and finds himself a prisoner...then the leader of an army of children...charging into battle mounted on unicorns!"

MWNL, with the text "Starbuck must save the man who could be his father from the bloodthirsty nomens!"

BE, with the text "Baltar ignites prisoners revolt to take over the Galactica!"

GFE, with the text "The Galactica encounters people from the planet Earth!"

I was hoping to find a site with all of the TV Guide ads but only came across the one for the premiere:

http://www.curemode.com/battlestar/photos/bgpic53.jpg

...and even then, it's only 1/2 of the ad! But if you haven't checked out this site, do so; it has some interesting images:
