Hello, members and visitors :)

This weekend, we'll begin cleaning up some stuff around the website, starting with the forums.

Members with ZERO postings who have been a member over 30 days will be nuked. Removed. If you are one of these people and wish to remain here, then post.

The 5 post rule will disappear as well for the model downloads.

Registration will be modified. I won't explain what we're doing with that until after it's implimented.

Smilies will be modified.

Some forums will be merged, renamed and some will "disappear" upon merging.

The Gallery will get a little re-arranging. I think the Downloads are ok.

None of these changes should affect the forums being up and running, so keep on foruming! :D

I'm glad that the forums won't be affected during the cleaning :)

Don't kow if you know.........but I don't have sufficent permissions to access the profiles of new and recent members.....

----

ernie90125, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I see I'm a bit late in posting here, but shouldn't those who have never posted be sent a notice, and allowed the grace of posting something before being nuked?

My problem above still persists.

Ernie,

No problem, here. That is by design, for that particular user/member classification.

Senmut,

Some of those handles had been around for YEARS! They've had plenty of time to post.....it's likely that the person forgot that they had registered.

"No problem, here. That is by design, for that particular user/member classification."

This only happens when I try and look at the profile or a new or recent member. Doesn't happen with longer term members ?

Correct. As I mentioned (and which you quoted), that is by design.

OK....may I ask why we're not able to learn about new members, to see the details in their public profile, so we can welcome them in an informed way ?

And how long to they have to be a member here before we can see their profile ?

(oh, and why as this design been introduced ?)

Ernie,

Why is there a burning need for folks to see a new member's profile and how does that prevent that member from being welcomed to the forum? If there is a desire to welcome a new member, one does not necessarily need a life's history from the new member; one may simply open a thread in the Cafe and give the welcome there. Then, the new member can respond, if he or she wishes.

Thanks,

BST

What is the point of creating a public profile....if the public can't see your profile ?

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to Colonial Fleets! :)

One thing that I want to mention, early on, is that the new show, by Ron Moore, is not discussed on this site. The only exception is in our Artwork section where you will find artists' renderings of ships, etc that appear in the new show and discussions regarding the technical aspects of the artwork.

Otherwise, the site is dedicated to the Original Battlestar Galactica show which aired in 1978/1979. Other science fiction shows are discussed as well. Please refer to our FAQ (http://www.colonialfleets.com/forums/faq.php?) section for additional details.
