Thanks for posting these links. I've jsut got back from a month on the Spanish island of Mallorca so it was nice to find these.

The first one I had seen before. I e-mailed the creator and suggested that they develop a fanfilm but never heard back.

Also I was just thinking after looking at some of DK's work, maybe you could open up a section on your site for fan edits.

David knows I am a strong supporter of his work.

However, I am concerned that the high level of copyright material in a Special Edition episode, means that if I did anything on my site, I could receive a cease and desist order.

Snippets of stuff from the show and audio are probably OK - most of the fanfilms on my site have that.

I have suggested to David, and I very much hope he will try, is to make an edit of just the new scenes - very similar to his recent YouTube link showing the Columbia. I would LOVE to include something like that on my site.

That's definitely a legitimate concern. But I would look a bit more into it if I were you, only because it seems fan edits are becoming an art form in their own right:

I visited the site.

A lot of it mentioned The Phantom Edit...which received a 'cease as desist order' from Lucasfilm. It also provides Torrent links, and sites dedicated to those, have been known to cause legal action in the music industry.

I LOVE what David has done, as a fan I enjoy and value them. But I don't know Universal finding a site with one their their properities adjusted and fir download....would help the smooth running of my site.

So again, I think it is wise of me to stick to my rule that, but for a few snippets, all of a fanfilm must be new work. That's why I'm hoping David will do the new footage only edit idea I've suggested. I would love to showcase his work.

If you pause the beginning credits it says www.TFXart.com yadda yadda yadda, used with permission yadda yadda yadda, Su-SHann productions, That's Hatch's production company that produced the 2nd coming trailer. Is this clip from thawt trailer? And if so, could you get permissions from www.TFXart.com as well?

This clip is also available from battlestargalactica.com and was created by the webmaster of that site. As this is only a test sequence of a few seconds duration....I wouldn't include it as there would be dozens of such submissions !

But I have talked to its creator about a possible submission.....who knows that the future might bring....
