For a brief period this past weekend, someone uploaded the "Second Coming" trailer to You Tube, which had been surreptitiously shot with a camcorder during a Convention screening.

I managed to get a look at it before it disappeared. I will say that the best part was seeing John Colicos. If I had one major criticism, it was the lack of the Stu Phillips music which would really have elevated the quality overall into the realm of the "Message From Moonbase Alpha" film the Space 1999 fans did.

Gee you guys......

You could have shared the information when it was relevant. I'm glad that you guys got to see it, but I still haven't.

Oh, well....

Even i got see it almost around year ago in Birmingham's NEC convention last year. Most of it? (place was shutting up shop ya see?)

Wonder who snuck one by Richard Hatch considering he always tell people NOT to film his trailer?

If it found its way onto youtube.com, somebody probably downloaded it already if they were on Firefox at the time?

OK, let's start scouring the earth to find this thing! It would be well worth it!!!

By the way, Richard is still showing it at convention appearnces, so if you catch Richard, you can see the trailer...

Hi,

Definitely! I have not seen the trailer, since it's not often that there are conventions that Richard Hatch attends here in the Boston area. As LKj said, check your browser cache files after viewing the trailer:

Internet Explorer
C:\Documents and Settings\Nathan\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Mozilla Firefox
C:\Documents and Settings\Nathan\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\2qiuzndo.default

Also, replace C:\Documents and Settings\Nathan with your Windows username. If you do view the trailer, be sure to check these folders before closing your browser so that the cache files are not deleted. And if you are viewing the folder with Windows Explorer, the best bet is to sort the file listing by Size. Video files such as the trailer tend to have large file sizes, so if you sort by Size it will be easier to spot the file.

Regards,

Nathan

Methinks that was a hint for someone (cough, cough Kingfish) to post it to youTube or elsewhere again. ;)

It's high time Richard just put it on the web at last. It won't gain him anything, but it would be so fun to share in.

I doubt we will see the thingy again. This was some fool who went to a con with a camera and took the picture. :thumbdown True we enjoyed the thing while it lasted, me especially since it was BG. TSC was made by actors who had to be paid and this was why we didn't get the trailer as part of the epic series dvd release because Uni wanted it from Richard for nothing and the SAG stated otherwise.

I haven't had the chance to see the trailer yet. Like a few others, I've seen still photos. I did see the 60 second outtake which has been posted on Athena Demos' site. I've heard that there's enough footage shot for a 90 minute film, it's just a matter of adding more special effects.

Exactly captmiloman, same goes for many who have come across that site and looked at tons of pictures from BG:TSC that were up on battlestargalactica.com back in 1999/2000. Richard Hatch obviously was alot smarter than many thought previously and practically shot way footage than any revival trailer really needed for particular reasons he has yet to truly disclose with anybody thus far.

This is what really annoy's me about the Richard Hatch version revival which honestly SHOULD'VE happened just like Singer and DeSanto's Galactica was also later cut down altogether! Universal has and had enough money to pay everybody off from Richard Hatch's The Second Coming trailer which was meant to convince them anyways to revival Battlestar Galactica as a continuation series. That fact that they turned it down but later wanted it so badly for their DVD release of the original series speaks of major volumes of stupidity to say the least. They make huge amounts of money to greenlight crappy productions on cable and TV and make cheese movies like Van Helsing, yet somehow can't see th logic of supporting something much akin to their own version of Star Wars/Star Trek when it comes down to a classic sci-fi franchise like Battlestar Galactica which they own?

In this day and age, even studio executives surely can do their own research and find out for themselves if a cult sci-fi property like Galactica needs to be covered in every which way possible, and marketed to the fans and general public alike who remember it so fondly with practically everything about it being placed on there. Its quite obvious to even a bloody 'mental ward patient' in a padded cell with nothing but a monitor plugged into the internet in front of him/her, that studio politics royally messed up here and screwed fans over by leaving out wanted things like the Richard Hatch Galactica trailer and a big DVD documentary segment on the 2003 DVD's that would've covered the former Bryan Singer and Tom DeSanto Battlestar Galactica revival effort project of 2001 as well. At this point even a segment on the Glen Larson Battlestar Atlantis trailer would have been a welcome bonus.

Universal was real lazy and didn't want to pay up. By leaving it out perhaps they'd think other people out there wouldn't know of the other (and far superior) revival efforts made over the years before Sci-Fi Channel's current remake version was greenlighted! Heck they didn't even mention anything on the Battlestar Galactica's Universal tour rides which were extremely popular in the early to mid 1980's.

Well i keep wondering when this still unseen puppy of a trailer will be seen by all. Richard can journey to all the conventions in the world and show his fine ass trailer along with his Madgellan work and all, but only an offcially released trailer on DVD or the internet, is going to get it shown to the majority of people out there. And trust me, i've heard things from the man himself in person last year on the issue so until he is ready, the waiting will have to continue. But hopefully BG: The Second Coming will be out there one day soon for everybody to enjoy one of the what if....Battlestar Galactica continuation versions that wasn't ever greenlighted unfortunately!
