Well -

I didn't run off to see Superman Returns this evening (again)....

I did remember that I purchased the DVD that Bryan Singer produced about the story of Superman from the 1938 comic book all the way to the making of the new film.

Lots of histony, lots of interviews - they cover every aspect and portrayal of Superman for the past 70 years.

You can have it all for the price of just 9.99 - run to your local Best Buy or whatever and give it a look-see. It's nearly two hours of history and entertainment that you'll treasure for some time to come. Not to mention the blooper reel shown during the end credits....

This summer is gonna be such a blast - Superman is back!

Got it the same day I got the Superboy DVD S1.

Loved it. This had quite a bit of Chris Reeve stuff in it too.

I didn't like the brush off of John Newton's Superboy in regards to Gerard Christopher though- Both should have gotten equal time IMO.

Back to the Superboy DVD though - I am SO glad to see Stacy in the Extras. She's got that look back again that made her Lana hot :D She looks darn good these days!

I thought they did a great job on this documantary. The only thing that bugged me about the presentation was the way they dismissed the Kirk Alyn movie serials of the 1940s and 50s. They wrapped up the documentary by placing the serials in the bad movie category and lumping it with the mocking Superman TV musical of the early 70s. While they may seem corny to modern eyes, the serials were the first time Superman was portrayed in live action. The serials respected the character. As such, they deserve some respect. They are also entertaining in their own right. I would much rather watch "Atom-man vs. Superman" than "Superman III" any day.
