View Full Version : Can you write a "priceless" commercial with a BG theme?

Tonight mastercard ran a commercial i hadn't seen before. MacGuyver, YES, the one and only Richard Dean Anderson in MacGuyver mode, with the voiceover describing the costs of the 'tools' he was using with the 'priceless' line reserved for the explosion of something sort of like a refinery or chemical plant started with 3-4 commonplace ingredients.
so here's my challenge:
write a priceless commercial using iconic story or character elements from TOS BG.
These can be humorous, or honor the original or look towards that continuation (which someday we will get, somehow).
Sound like fun? or have i been 'breathing plant vapors'?:rotf:

That MacGuyver master card commercial is about the only one of those I like just because it's MacGuyver. I've got ideas running around in my head (they're being naughty :D ) I might come up with something fun in a little while.

Another perspective I thought about is more fan-oriented, prices are just guesses, I don't really remember what price points:
Custom made warrior jacket—$300
Prop replica blaster holster materials—$40
Prop replica blaster with lights—$150-$300
Sidi motorcross boots—$200
Black spraypaint—$7
Gold spray paint—$7
3 markers for holster ammo clips—$1
Silver Cylon Centurion Costume $3000
Meeting with your friends for the premiere of the TOS continuation movie—priceless
Heehee. :D

Maybe I put a little too much thought into this, but here's what I came up with;
The commercial opens with an establishing shot of Starbuck, Boomer, Jolly and the gang playing cards and smoking.
Narrator: Cards and cigars; 20 cubits.
An alert is called and everybody runs to the launch bay and starts suiting up.
Narrator: Warrior's suit, boots, gloves and helmet; 400 cubits.
The Vipers launch and begin engaging the Cylons in bloody battle.
Narrator: Fully-armed Colonial Viper; 12,000,000 cubits.
Starbuck blasts the felgarcarb (sp?) out of some Cylons and his ship is damaged in the process. He just barely makes it to the landing bay in one piece.
Narrator: Making it home after a hard day at the office; priceless.

They were running a write your own commercial thing a while back, and may still be. That's partly why I thought "hey, why couldn't we write some" when i saw the MacGuyver one.

Yeah, but commercials are usually done on a pretty low budget so, even if they did something this cool, it'd probably look crappy. :(
