I've just never liked this design ... not even a little bit.

I never really liked it either. I don't like the idea of a fighter painted red.

My favorite version of an updated viper remains Darrell's Cobra. I think it shows the natural progression of advancement the best. Whereas the original Viper could be an analog to WWII designs, the angular thrusters of Darrel's design seem to me at least to be sort of an analog to Gulf War or current military designs.

The red paint job on that mesh isn't how Richard had it in The Second Coming. It pretty much had a regular Viper paint job in the trailer.

Brandon changed the textures to red on his own.

This is also the model someone asked me about adding to the Viper chart, and I had mentioned this model wouldn't hold up quality wise ;)

The Cobra design absolutely rocks! Still one of my all-time favorites.

It sure is pretty when you animate it. It flows very nicely and is just a pretty design. I've always been a bit more favorable to the bubble cockpit version although its less technically accurate for the series.

I don't care for bubble cockpits myself, they appear a bit too 50's sci fi for my tastes. But they're all good. Awsome pics. Now we just need Blue Squad to make a kit for the Cobra!
