We got to kind of see the Police Force.

But I was wondering if in any of the books or comics or whatever, they ever showed or dealt with Colonial Marines or ground troops of any kind. We've seen the landrams, but do they have any other kind of hover tanks or jeeps? Anti aircraft guns?

And what about naval operations? Doesn't really seem logical to me that they'd have exclusive water craft except perhaps for recreation. But maybe something that sort of a flying submarine?

for sure the colonies have to have some kind of ground forces like the army and marines, how else can you take control of a planet and keep it.

I don't think the colonies have a planetary naval force but it depends on the cylons if there are waterproof and rustproof. If they are not, the cylons won't go near the water.

The only time we ever see something like ground troops is when there is a bunch of them ready to strike at Baltar's transfer of the prisoners in "Baltar's Escape." I think they are wearing some sort of helmets with clear shields?

There are no Colonial Marines since the Colonial Warriors do both jobs. The only other scifi that compared to Galactica is Space Above and Beyond. It should since it was based on BG. :D
