the gallifreyan timelord is back and the stories are as good as ever.

it's a wonderful, entertaining, enjoyable sci-fi show.

bravo and thank you to russell davies and the bbc.

you continued something excellent and kept all the parts that made the show special enough for a 26 year run, in the first go round. may this give you another long run.

Is it the updated first season/black leather coat, or the start of the second season?

This is the first season of the new Who. There are 13 eps and a special Christmas episode as well. The 2nd season with David Tennant (a regenerated version of Eccleston) hasn't aired yet in the UK.

We'll probably get season 2 next year.

Ah. Ok. Already seen the Eccleston ones. Top notch stuff there.

Top notch and fun at the same time. What a nice little Friday night escape. (Now I just have to program the VCR so I can enjoy it when there's nothing else on!)

I'll have to do the same thing..... My day starts so early, I barely made it thru the first episode and only saw the first bits of the second. At least in the following weeks, I'll only have one 9pm episode to stay up for.

Getting old really knocks me out sometimes!

Getting old really knocks me out sometimes!

That wouldn't happen if you would just regenerate already.

Preliminary rating estimate for Doctor Who on Skiffy

http://www.gallifreyone.com/news.php#newsitemEEuFpuFkuuHcktIgwY

March 22nd

According to information from the programming department of the Sci-Fi Channel, Doctor Who did well its first night in broadcast. 1.58 million viewers tuned in to watch "Rose," says the report, with 1.61 million viewers watching "The End of the World" and .78 million viewers each watching "Rose" and "The End of the World" in their 11pm and 12am repeat slots. These numbers are somewhat lower than the standard viewing the channel received for its broadcasts of its original series "Stargate: Atlantis" and "Battlestar Galactica" in the same time slots, but higher than any broadcast of syndicated series that evening (including repeats of "Firefly" and "John Doe"). Final numbers including Nielsen rankings should be available within the next week or two.

I'm surprised they're able to produce some of the special effects considering how new these episodes are. I guess realistically there's a lot more applications out there for FX. The show itself it really good.
