I seem to remember a while back some conversation to the effect that there were plans to have the Starsearcher from Buck Rogers meet the Galactica at some point. Was this just fan speculation/fanfic, an idea being tossed about by Larson, or were there treatments or a screenplay written for this?

It's Searcher.
Larson had nothing to do with Buck Rogers in season two, in season one after the pilot, all he did was approve scripts.
Oh, and it's just some stupid fan rumour.

I don't know it was a "stupid fan rumour" but more of a hope/suggestion that springs up once in a while......
I suggested it a while ago as a Continuation storyline possibility...with the thought that the dual fanbase appeal would make it more financially interesting to studios......

That's too bad it wasn't more than a rumour. It probably would have been a great way to bring it back, at least as a telemovie or two to wrap up both shows.

It was a question I posed a handful of times mostly not getting an answer. I wondered because the BR season two seemed to be going that way.

Exactly. It would almost seem to make perfect sense.
In any case, it sure would make one heck of a fan film, if some CG guru had a two mintue scene with all the BSG and Buck Rogers ships dogfighting, inlcuding the Hawk fighter and the Searcher right next to the Galactica.
I was never that big a fan of Buck Rogers, but that show did have some darn cool ships!
