View Full Version : A Time for Thanks and Remembrance

Folks,
As we, undoubtedly, are aware, today is that one special day of the year when we 'officially' give thanks for all of our blessings. It's also a time for remembering those who may no longer be with us.
As the others have said in their messages, I will echo here and wish EACH and EVERY member of this wonderful family, a Happy Thanksgiving. May your day be filled with peace and with the warmth of family bond. Take a moment, though, and give your family members an extra long embrace and let them know how truly thankful you are to have them in your life.

Pete's sentiments of a year ago should not just be reapplied today, but everyday.
I can honestly say that I am not only thankful for the people in my immediate life but also for the friends that I have made here. Some of you have really tured out to be fabulous friends. We are all very lucky to have each other.
Happy Thanksgiving all.

Things you can only say at Thanksgiving!
1. Talk about a huge breast!
2. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist.
3. It's Cool Whip time!
4. If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst!
5. Whew, that's one terrific spread!
6. I'm in the mood for dark meat.
7. Are you ready for seconds yet?
8. It's a little dry, do you still want to eat it?
9. Just wait your turn, you'll get some.
10. Don't play with your meat.
11. Just spread the legs open and stuff it in.
12. Do you think you'll be able to handle all these people at once?
13. I didn't expect everyone to come at once!
14. You still have a little bit on your chin.
15. How long will it take after you stick it in?
16. You'll know it's ready when it pops up.
17. Wow, I didn't think I could handle all of that!
18. That's the biggest one I've ever seen!
19. How long do I beat it before it's ready?

It's hard to believe that another Thanksgiving is once more upon us. (Is it me, or did this year go by really fast...)
As I reflect on the things that I am most grateful for, I took a moment to also think of those who are not with or could not be with the ones they love. Whether it is someone who is in the service of their country, one who is away from home traveling at this time of year or one who is no longer with us, I hope they and their loved ones find peace, love and joy during this time. The warmth of family is a wonderful thing.
As for me, I have not been posting here at Fleets as often as I would like to. I have been focusing on RL for the last year or so. Nothing is wrong by the way, just life. ;) I thought about family and friends and wanted, as Pete most eloquently stated, to "Take a moment, though, and give your family members an extra long embrace and let them know how truly thankful you are to have them in your life."
So in that spirit, to all at my second "family" here at Fleets, I am truly thankful to have such wonderful people to associate with. I am very blessed to have such friends in my life. :salute: I shall endeavor to make the time and keep in touch more with this community and this very special place.
Be safe and have a Happy Thanksgiving to all.
