When i try to open galactica max 6 version in deep exploration the uv map coordinates are wrong.
Anybody knows why?

DeepExploration doesn't read Max files all that great to start with, and probably isn't upgraded yet to read Max 6.
Last version I have can only read around Max 3.

Did not know a max6 version existed. Which UV map coords are wrong? all of them?

Wil, according to the SciFi-Meshes Download page, there is a Max 6 version now.

Why I dunno. Your version was just fine as is.

Deep exploration version is 2.5 . It's load 3ds max 6 mesh via a dll file installed directly in the plugin dir of max 6, don't remember dll's name.
Some parts of mesh seems not feet perfectly with the texture image, for example
for engine upper and lower. Probably I have to modify the size coordinates manually.

@ Warrior, saw they have a max6 version, do not know why either.
@ dec2000, this is because of the conversion, the maps do not fit exactly, so in max they are "scaled" to fit (achieved by tiling the map less than 1,0, not by changing uv coords). I have seen similar mistakes on renders of the LW conversions on top of the landing bays, where it says "GALACTICA", you can see parts of the original ribs on the map. However the render of the conversion which you can download is to small to see if it was already on the conversion, or mistakes by whoever downloaded it. Hopes this helps a little bit.

This version is very nice ... although lighting ofr a newbie like me is a good challenge just wish I had an LW version to play with.

Ask wjaspers if he'll add the Max version here at CF ;)
As for a LW version, look in the Downloads here at CF.

I know Warrior ... but it seem's that even though I have done the required minimum posts for download ... I can't .. God I wish I could ... I'm no 3D modeller but love creating pics ... just want to create a pic of an RPG reimagining of BSG I have ... will post more about it if I can ever download the LW version.

As I have stated elsewhere, check your "cookies". If there is more than one from CF, then delete ALL of them, then re-log in.

Well .... done what you suggested Warrior but still no joy in downloading ... feel a little cheated since I have loads I'd love to do ... but no model to use :(

(bows down) .. "Not worthy,not worthy ...."
Thanks Warrior ... now using Firefox and OMG I have new and old decent BSG's to use :) when I have created the desired images I will of course post the outcomes .. hopefully in two formats ... being original style and re-imagined ... as long as no one is offended.

Just wanted to say this as it is how I feel about BSG ......
Having been there when BSG77 first hit the silverscreen and then Tv ... was quite a phenom at the time ... Star trek was boring and star wars was just three films with predictive screenplay. Like all space bound operas BSG was at a time with competition on the rise ... STTNG was testament to this ... suddenly BSG was dated and the ST Dynasty rolled on to thunderous applause from the masses ... but some of us RPGers held on to that little fragment of history created by BSG. Now we have RDM's 'reimagining' of how he see's BSG should have been .. but like fans of ST:TOS when ST:TNG came along they protested and threw numerous teddies out of the preverbial pram .. but money had become God and ratings even more ... thanks to RDM the original Galactica is now only a fond memory to the few who really knew ... and as much as some loathe the thought RDM's BSG 2003 is like the preverbial surf wave for the sportingly challenged ... it has dared us to view BSG in a new and different light ... I for one will always be torn between the two, I do love seeing the original 'ol girl ... but zoic have shown us a new style and she too is a beautiful work of art .. at first I tried to hate her ... but you see here's the point ... as much as I'd love to hate her .. she is BSG .. but to the new generation .. and so this is concluded with love them both and keep the Battlestar Galactica faith ... no matter what shape she appears ... coz while we have Battlestar we are safe from Star Trek on mass exploitation.
Only one problem Warrior .. I can't seem to get the 'remake' version to texture ? ... am I missing something .... I hope to add my first picture this weekend *crosses fingers and prays to the Gods of Kobol*

It should already be textured.
Do a test render and see if the textures show up. In LW, you may be showing the work area as wireframes/non-textured.
