In War of The Gods Part II, Starbuck and Apollo discover a secret in the gigantic crashed ship on the planet where they found Count Iblis. What was it? What was the secret they wanted to hide from Sheba? Was it the wreckage of the Pegasus? Was it a ship of Demons such as Iblis?

In the original filming of the episode, the two look down at a cloven hoof. The network censors cut that part of the scene as "too upsetting", considering the shows' time-slot...that was in the days when 'childrens programming' meant that you had to be hyper-careful of what you showed on network TV.....

Its definately a mystery that could have been revealed in a future episode.
As Iblis is thousands of years old, and is no longer 'physical' in the normal sense, I always thought that the 'great ship' may have been crashed onto the planet by some design, to maroon Iblis there.
He's unknown to the modern colonists, but influenced the pre-history of the modern mechanical Cylons, so I think we are seeing a previously unmentioned race who have fallen under Iblis' spell.
It seems that the peculiarities of the planet that Apollo and Starbuck find him on (coupled perhaps with its isolation) are keeping Ibis' 'essence' from escaping, and the light-ships are almost acting like 'wardens' patrolling the area.
To begin with, you'd think that It seems unlikely that the light-ships would have destroyed the great ship carrying Iblis.
But we also know that Iblis does intervene directly with the 'evolution' of races, so are we effectively seeing his 'flagship' crewed by demonic allies of his? And if this race was 'created' by Iblis, did the lightships move against them directly?
Alternatively
Were they transporting Iblis there with the intention of marooning him?
Did they have a method of containing him?
Did he try and escape?
Did a third race attack them?

In Richard Hatch's book 'Armageddon', he explained about Iblis & the Ship of Lights. He also explained about the Capricans.

I have not read Armageddon. What did he (Richard Hatch) write about Iblis and the Capricans? I also remember reading in one the the Maximum Press comics an explanation of Iblis and the wrecked "great ship" but don't remember the details. It seemed to me that the wrecked ship could have been the Pegasus because of Starbuck and Apollo not wanting her (Sheba) to see what was in the ship at first. It would have also answered the other mystery of what became of the second surviving battlestar...

In the book, the ships of light were basically 'The Lords of Kobol'. When Capricans die, they would become members of the ships of light, as long as they were children of Capricans & not of 'mixed' colonial heritage. Iblis was a member of the ships of light who got ticked off at them & went his own way. That's it in a nutshell

Sounds way too racially exclusive.

I agree! Why would only Capricans be exalted to the ship of lights and no one else from the Colonies? :bg04: If the beings from the ship of lights were actually the Lords of Kobol, why would they only embrace one of the Colonies that they founded? Iblis was cast out from them and at some point used his evil to help the Cylon machines destroy their biological masters which was why his voice was used as the imprint for all models that became Imperious Leader. It was clear in this episode that the beings pre-dated even the Lords of Kobol, who at some point spawned the entire human race.

Are you sure it was "Capricans"?
Granted, it's been a bit since I've read it - but I seem to recall the limit was "Kobollians" - those directly descended from the Lords of Kobol (Adama and his line being the most pertinent to the story).
This would then encompass a wide number of people over all the Colonies.
Gonna have to go look that up now.......
