Hi all,

I am currently making a website to review/picture/link to all the Battlestar Galactica TOS fanfilms that exist. There are more than you might realise.

The aim of this website is to publically display the talents of BSG fan and publicise a Continuation and how it might look, feel or be achieved. This site will not showcase any TNS material.

Having talked about it a lot, this is my contribution to promoting a new BSG that has the support of those who campaigned for its return.

I have paided for two domain names :

www.battlestarfanfilms.com
www.battlestar-fanfilms.com

Which do people think is better ?

Due to my limited webdesign skills, this site will quite basic in design, but content rich. It will include 3 pages as well as the homepage. A page cataloging all the fanfilms. A page listing all the audio adventures. A page with the mission statement.

The mission statement page is one that I shall ask assistance in writing, as it should represent all our views on what has happened, and our hopes for the future.

I will upload a beta version of the website shortly. Please comment on it in this thread. That's why I have started it. This thread is so that we all feel a part of this endevour, and it can embody the work and hopes of all of us...not just me...

Suggestions ? Feedback ? Thoughts ?

Charybdis........

Firstly......thank you for your support....

However, to clarify....my website will not host files...only link to them. I would be honoured to link to your worthy efforts.......

This reminds me......

EDIT : I had asked for screenshots from fanfilm makers, but after finging out how easy it is, I'm making them myself. Although fanfilm makers may still post them here if you don't like the ones I've made...

If you made an audio adventure....and there was a poster made to promote it, please post that here also.

Please also post links here to where your files can be downloaded.

I was going to wait a bit till we got settled in with more content. Our own RJandron has set up the main site where Battlestar Galactica: 14th Colony will evolve.

http://www.battlestarfanfilm.org/

There is a forum with topics for the project and other TOS fan films. You can also post about many other TOS subjects provided you haven't tired your self out here first. :salute:

MISSION STATEMENT Discussion, debate and corrections welcomed :

There are those who believe.......that Battlestar Galactica deserves a Continuation.

This site is proud to be one of many websites and organisations supporting a Continuation of Battlestar Galactica. Imagine a cult show returning with original cast members, leading a new generation of Colonial Warriors, in a battle against the odds to survive.....This belief is held by thousands of dedicated fans.....

Richard Hatch (Apollo) became a hero to the fanbase when he re-mortgaged his house to pay for a Continuation trailer entitled "The Second Coming" Many fans who saw it at conventions were blown away its intense and modern take on the original series. We saw in Richard someone who understood we didn't want the 70s haircuts and style....he saw and understood what a major sci-fi fanbase wanted....sadly the 'men in suits' didn't.....

The in the first few years of this millennium we thought our dreams had come true, as Bryan Singer and Tom DeSanto began to create a Continuation series with the original cast returning. Sadly, September 11th happened, and the schedule was sent into dis-array. Bryan Singer had to move onto his next scheduled project, and Tom DeSanto later found out that the sets had been destroyed and the series shelved.

Fans never lost hope, and we were overjoyed to find out that another attempt at making a series was underway.....but our joy soon turned to disappointment when we heard that it was to be a Re-Make.

The creators of the new show appealed to us to "give it a chance." Many of us did so, but were sickened by scenes of baby murdering, assault and rape. This is not what we called Battlestar Galactica.....this is not what we campaigned for....this is not what we have held so dear for so long. This series was Galactica In Name Only (GINO)

A strong, loyal and determined fanbase still remains committed to seeing the return of Battlestar Galactica as a Continuation of the original series. So far we have achieved :

Fans have secured the long term interest and promise from Tom DeSanto(X-men, Transformers etc) and original cast members, to make a Continuation series of movie.

The original series(from 1978!) still results in more new official merchandise than the Re-Make series(2003- ) does in it hey-day !

Fans have produced major works of fan fiction, audio stories and fan films.

We have raised $12,000 of our own money to place ads in major publications (Daily Variety, Cinescape, Dreamwatch).

We will NEVER give up.......

Please browse this website....we link to and review(for the fair purpose of review under copyright law) fan based achievements in presenting popular views on the universe of the original Battlestar Galactica and a Continuation....

I'd leave out most of the GINO stuff. The best way to deal with GINO is not talk about it, stay positive about TOS

I've had that mentioned in a PM by one person as well.....

My reason for including it, is to state why we're not content with what Hollywood has been kind enough to give us.

If people are seeing GINO mentioned in their TV guide as a new series, and then see my website, they might not understand why we're not happy with the Battlestar Galactica we're being given.

It is not there to provoke anger or upset......but I'll welcome people's thoughts either way....

I understand, just tone it down a little the less you say about GINO the better.
