LadyI, speaking of Hardy....did you see they did a Hardy Boys as a graphic novel? I think I must sometime have one, even though I cared not about owning/reading the casefiles.

Welcome home. You were all missed.
The "what dreams may come", you know that really describes the main BG forum. It should be very into our hopes, wishes, dreams and ideas. Just as BSG was centered on no matter what the direness of the circumstance, there was always hope that someday, somewhere they would find a place to begin again.
this is kind of a new beginning.
Remember, watch out for beavers and Blue Koolaid in the cafe (and under no circumstances accept Koolaid from a beaver). I had a case of ambrosa hid for a special occasion, if you find it, don't leave me out. :)

This has caused a sense of distress, outrage, and indignation among these good and decent people. AND, you also seem to have managed to drive away a segment of your own fanbase.
I include myself in both of those categories. All this time I was connecting nonexistant dots and thinking that that POS show was actually going somewhere. How wrong could I have been? Anyways....
It's good to see CF back where it belongs. I used to love coming aorund here, but when the new people arrived, I couldn't relate anymore....how ironic eh? That should have told me something about where my head was.

The irony, IMHO, in this day is that at this very centon "The Living Legend Part 1" is being broadcast on Space in Canada.
During the "chase" scene when Sheba and Bojay are on Apollo and Starbuck's tails sums it up best for me.........
Starbuck: "Bojay? Bojay is that YOU?"
Bojay: "Starbuck?!"
Starbuck: "Apollo it is! It's Bojay! You remember he was in our squadron until............"
Old friends and comrades reuniting.
Welcome home Warriors :D

I think this is probably the best course for Fleets. And I think Don you deserve alot of praise for having the courage to take it.
Fleets has always wanted to be all things galactica and dominate the net. But its happiest when it celebrates in TOS. And I'm hoping with the purging of TNS discussion, Fleets return to focusing on only what makes fans here happy.

Oh my god Tom. Is this how you truely feel? I was prepared for backlash and i'm getting it but it's no matter. It's time to return Fleets to where it belonged. You know me Tom, i've been struggling with this since GINO started. It wasn't one episode that broke the camels back persay it's the whole thing.
But thanks nonetheless.
And welcome back to everyone else!

My postings on this site are on-again/off-again (mostly off :( ) but rest assured that Colonial Fleets has never lost my interest or respect--and in fact, it has only gained more of my respect for the decision to return to its "roots."
I've been watching the new series since it's start and suspect I will continue to do so until its end but I've yet to ever really enjoy even one episode. TOS, however...LOVE IT and will ALWAYS LOVE IT. In spite of all its flaws, in spite of its single season's worth of episodes, in spite of its apparent legion of "dissers"...it's one incredible series and I thank God for it, this site and its supporters.

First I would like to appologise to anyone who was offended by anything I had posted while I was enjoying GINO, it wasnt ever inteded to offend, but more importaintly, I want to say thanks for allowing me to consider myself part of the TOS crowd. I was a late commer, thats me last to join, first to leave, but this time I like the neibors. I think Im gonna like living next door to a Lady Immortal, and a guy watering the lawn in a big clunky suit, et all. This is a fantastic forum, made ever more so by the admins who obviously have a strong moral and ethical fibre. I am honored to be allowed to be a member of this community, and often floored by the depth and wisdom shown. Im not really smart, I do ok, but Im not a rocket scientist, so when I see wisdom, I give it the props that it deserves.
Ive noticed that there are a few hard core TOS fans who like to mix it up with the GINO crowd, and vice versa, but in all, it seemed to be basically all in the spirit of whats best for BSG. GINO, in my very humble and uninformed way, does not appear to be in that interest, so I thank the staff here for this decision. I am glad that I had the chance, through the education I recieved, via the wisdom here, and by experience of seeing a disaster happen week after week, to be welcomed into this TOS family. Thank you.
Finally, I want to express my stance on this in no incertain terms. TOS was dated, it had several inconsistant problems that plagued it as it ran, and it definately could have used more stock footage of the action scenes, but the characters were strong, they had their convictions, they had dreams, and most of all, the writers, though they seemed to be limited to silly crome cowboy hats and stuff, did put together a series that is fun to watch, over and over, and did offer a great example of how to approach life. They didnt use the guts and gore and shock jock mentality to get ratings, they did it the old fashioned way, they entertained us. Im proud to have discovered this treasure, this diamond in the rough. I hope that they do decide to remake the series at some point, same story, same characters, same everything, just modern effects, music, everything, and keep the same charm that I found lately in TOS that is completely missing in GINO. Thanks, thats my two cents, and thats ALL it is.

A wise decision I think.
All the while GINO held even the slightest glimmer of the light of the original or even the possibility of rekindling the smallest spark, then there was an argument for keeping it here. It seems that bridge has now been crossed once and for all. There is absolutely nothing of the magic of TOS in Moores show, apart from the names. It really does deserve it's nickname, and it really doesn't deserve to be honoured by ANY association with TOS.
Lets all say a small prayer of thanks to the Lords Of Kobol that Moore decided to leave OUR show alone. A Skiffy/Moore original cast continuation, really would have been Armageddon.
Long Live Colonial Fleets. Keep the Faith. :salute:

How people could tune in week after week and give GINO ratings is beyond me. I stopped watching after last season, Hatch or no Hatch. Why he would want to be associated with a show that disrespected both the cast and fans of the original is way beyond me.

Hey, what's up? Long time no talk. I haven't been around much, but I did keep up with some of the cool artwork on here, and you've come along way. Sweet pics you've made. I love 'em.
I'll be doing more work on the old Gal, that's for sure, but I really don't think it'll actually ever be complete. The only good thing about RDM's Pegasus was the ship itself, it looked very TOS like and well, if anything good can come of such trash, it resparked my interest in my own work. Now I gotta search around for all my TOS Galactica pics I have around here somewhere. And I can't find the foundation demo! Damn...I need all that stuff to do this again. I'm going to finish the exterior of the landing bays once and for all first!
Jewels and Titon, how are you doing? I still remember all those chats I was in with you guys...those were nice times. Hopefully there'll be more to come soon.
