Add Anne to the lineup. One more interested, but not official yet. The European tour continues...

If anyone is going to be there, let us know! Maybe we can try a run with a Continuation ad of some type at the con.

I am attending this convention. I bought plane tickets two weeks ago. Anybody have any questions to ask any of the guests?

Warrior,

See response in TOS thread.

Tracy,

Can you edit the thread title to Dirk, Terry, Herb, Richard, Anne, Noah, and Felix?

If anybody has any questions they'd like me to ask any of the actors/actress, let me know.

Passport is due in this week. Staying with some BSG fans over there. They are picking me up, letting me stay with them, feeding me, etc. How cool is that!!!

I tried to see Hatch in Columbus Ohio, but he canceled. So now I'm going over 3,000 miles??? Well yeah, Terry lives on that side of the pond so who knows if I'd ever get another chance to see all of these guys/girl all together again.

There will be a one hour Q&A with photos of the cast at the end. Will be sure to provide a report.

This is my dream come true!!!

Mike

you might get a really large selection of guests to chose from outside BG, too. I saw Dwight Schultz's name (Murdock from A-team), and Erin Grey and Gil Gerard from Buck Rogers. Pretty Cool.

Gang,

Here's the link to my convention report for Screenheroes. There is also a separate report for my trip to the Netherlands.

Hi Mike....

Nice report...leads me to a couple of questions...

How did you get permission to do interviews, and where can we read/view what you did ?

I see a reply by DGPromotions as having organised this ? Weren't they the name people who did the Birmingham show successfully ?

Thanks again for the interesting read.....

Ernie,

Thanks for the compliment. Let me try to answer your questions...

We talked to the people running the convention and got it scheduled. Fortunately, in the Netherlands, there wasn't a tremendous amount of media interest, so it was wasn't too difficult to get them to grant us the interviews. As for where, on an upcoming BSG website. I will be working on transcribing it, but we hope to make the audio available as well.

Let me take some care in answering the next question. It may sound like splitting hairs, but because of the results of the convention, I want to make sure there is no misunderstandings.

DG Promotions works with several of the BSG actors, including Laurette Spang, Anne Lockhart, Noah Hathway, Felix Silla, (and Arlene Martel) in scheduling conventions. DG did arrange for them to appear at both conventions. They did NOT organize either show. So for the fiasco that happened as Screenheroes, they had nothing to do with that.

Just want to make sure that credit was given where credit is due, and the same for the blame.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, from a fans perspective, that must've been pretty sweet.

But from the actors/actresses perspective, that must have sucked.

It's a wonder they do Cons as much as they do, with everything that tends to go wrong. It's a testament of their character to get out there and see the fans, despite some Con organizers.

Mike....thanks for the reply....

Also great to know that DG are good at what they do....it means we can hope for more excellent BSG Conventions ! (Which hopefully I won't be on holiday for !!!)

Thanks for the kind words Mike Screenheroes was how can I put this unusal. It was the second overseas event that I helped get Galactica Guests for but by far the worst organization I ever worked with.

Warrior,

From my perspective, it was awesome. Not too many fnas, so I got to spend more time with the actors. For some of the other fans, they did not get refunds for the VIP party, or for any of the tokens that they didn't use on the first day. But many that I've talked to still look back at it as positive. They lost some money, but it was a stacked lineup for the Netherlands.

For the actors, yeah, nobody wants to be treated that way. I can't imagine the hotel chain would treat these of all people like that. I'm sure there will be some negative feedback coming to the hotel. Only two actors left Saturday night, and who could blame them. It was really a testament to the other actor's character for coming back on Sunday.

Ernie,

I emailed the people at the Birmingham con to find out how theirs went. They said they had a 40% increase in attendance from a year ago. Hopefully a lot of that had to do with the BSG guests. They were pretty much the featured guests, so maybe it did.
