Over the last year I have been busy constructing with help from my friend Mark Dickson a studio replica, in lightwave format of the Battlestar Galactica shuttle craft. With his permission I can finally show you a small snippit of what we have been working on. It's about 80-85% finished with many man-hours left to go before she's finished. Once completed we will be moving on to such ships as the Basestar and many other ships from the Galactica universe. Thanks to Mark for helping on this for if it were not for him such a feat what not been attainable.

wow, that looks absolutely fantastic! How bout a few more views please?:) I'lol have to go watch a bunch of old BSG episodes to see how accurate this is, but a first glance, i'm totally convinced...
Aaah, I really wish they would have made Hatch's BSG 2nd coming....
So who is Mark Dickson out of curiousity? Is he the designer of the studio prop?
Well, I have to admit this makes me wanna go make a BSG model! maybe something from the rag tag fugitive fleet....

Yeah, I was going to ask who Mark Dickson is too, only because I've noticed how many photos he takes of models. What does he do that he's gotten access to these models?

Did someone say "Galactica"?
Although it's FAR from even being considered completed i'll show a wee bit off what i have done. This will take quite sometime because of the lack of reference for the pieces. But with help from a few people that have actually built replicas i got a small start on it.

In my humble opinion, as someone who thinks CGI is overrated, the shuttle is the best CG model I've ever seen, ANYWHERE, period!

Amazing work. Truly, incredibly amazing.
My only nits: The Galactica isn't done yet...
(ducking)
Don: Are you going to use Futura font variant for the typeface on the "GALACTICA" nameplate? For example, I noticed that Lee Stringer's model used Helvetica. It's a great model, but the typeface isn't right -- and it actually detracts, imho.
Keep up the phenomenal work...
Michael

Actually yes, i did the Helvecta just to place the font for measuring purposes. I plan on having the nameplate interchangeable.
The Galactica will take sometime as you well know.
