Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to wish you all well!
Friday begins an unheralded night of scifi programming. As far as I recall, there has never been a full four hours straight of quality scifi programmiing like Fridays willl soon have. nothing like that has ever been on tv before with the exception of miniseries and other short one time events. FOUR whole hours!
So even for those who aren't happy with the new show, they can at least take solace that science fiction is becoming stronger on tv. In addition to Fridays, we have Medium, Lost, 4400, and other shows, all of which that have more hard work going into writing that is on the whole much stronger than science fiction ever got in a weekly basis before.
Firefly is coming out soon. Movies based on comic book heroes are becoming incredible in their writing almost to the point where we may soon see one nominated for best picture if this keeps up.
In some ways we lost the big war, but we are making up for that by winning alot of the little ones. I think Apollo would approve of that.
So Its time to look toward the positive. We are fortunate. and we have much to be happy about.
:D

Thread moved to a more appropriate forum (not that you made it an easy choice, Tom).

(Darth, this was in the "Galactica and Fleets News" section, and is basically about Skiffy's Friday broadcast schedule and network sci-fi, none of which has to do with Galactica or Fleets. I had a little trouble deciding whether to put it in the Stargate forum, or the TNS forum, or "Other Science-Fiction Shows" - I decided on the latter due to the overall content and message.)

I tend to surf by "new posts" and don't have much of a grasp of where posts live.

Unfortunately i can't join in such a celebration because quite frankly non of the scifi series really does anything for me at the moment.
But to all that are geeked over this have fun!

*elbows Titon* Firefly starts on the 22nd. It's worth getting geeked over. Just the Serenity's Crazy Ivan is worth geeking over. Mwahahahaha! Just don't let your wife catch you watching Inara take the sponge bath. You'll never get her to the movie then. ;)

Serenity starts September 30th, be there!

I should digitally superimpose "Spongebob" in to that scene!

Will soon have?
What's the fourth hour going to have?
BTW: The old Sci-Fridays on Showtime did, at one time, have a FOUR hour line-up.
I'm not sure of the line-up. But it probably included: Total Recall 2070, Stargate SG-1, The Outer Limits, and ??
Not sure what the "?" was as I opted to watch Star Trek instead.

KP -
Starting next Friday (7/22), reruns of Firefly will be in the slot right before SG-1.
So....
You will have a lineup that looks like this:
Firefly
Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis
Battlestar Galactica
4 hours of SciFi programming on one night all on one channel....
Enjoy!

Sweet.
OTOH, if you're including re-runs, then the old Sci-Friday on Showtime had 4 hour blocks of programming all the time. Alas only because they'd run a new Outer Limits, two other series, followed by the previous week's Outer Limits.. Or some mixture thereof..
Move along. Nothing to see here.

Not only am I geeked....but I am in total manic nirvana when it comes to Fridays on Sci-Fi.
If only other days of Skiffy were like Friday...with pure science fiction, and not this horror stuff that seems to pervade it.
