I see you have a copy of the Galactica (blue pouched) blueprints!

Yes the bridge was a big sucker. Supposedly when they dismanteled the sound stage it sat on alot of the pieces were simply buried right there. Dug a hole and pushed it in.

Shame.

Shame indeeed, still it lives on through the wonders of DVD and CG recreations.

One day, I'll commission my friend who's a model builder to make a model of the bridge. If he can make a model of the Icarus from Planet of the Apes from plans – he can make the bridge from the blueprints.

Senmut, the 1978 version.

When they dismantled the bridge after the show was over there was nowhere else to put the massive amount of crap. So they dug a hole and buried it. Supposedly you could still dig up sections of the bridge.

There is only one person that i know of that has done enough research on the bridge to accurately reproduce it today.

Man, that is a shame. Would be cool to build a life-sized recreation of the thing somewhere! 500 posts!! Whoo hoo!!!

(Maybe it got buried next to the 2 million E.T. Atari cartridges from 1980) :D

Just kidding.

I would love to see a faithful reconstruction of the original bridge. It was an impressive set...no denying that. :)

Respectfully,

The soundstage was one with a "tank" for when they needed to film underwater.

The bridge set floor (in front of where the helms folks and Rigel were) was the tank bottom and the ceiling lights were literally in the rafters of the stage. Not only was it huge width wise, but heightwise as well.)

Makes the bridge on ST-TNG look tiny! even bigger then the TNS Series bridge, But Galactica is a huge ship it better have a huge bridge to run the thing! thay did recreate it for the Tom BSG, If Larson ever gets the movie going, You think he'll recreate the tos bridge for the flick?
