I'm highly recommending it after finishing it at some zany hour of the early a.m. this morning.
Characters are well done, wonderful epic heroes like those in LotR. Settings have some of the same types of incredible features.
It's worth the 500 pages to read.

Wasn't this book written by a 15 year old kid? Am I mixing it up with something else? Could you tell that in any way or not? Either way, that kid must have some incredible talent!

According to Amazon he was 15 when he started writing it but no indication of how old he was when it was completed :D
Ok he's 19 now! lol here's a neat web page about him :D http://www.teenreads.com/authors/au-paolini-christopher.asp
The fellow who wrote the Black Stalion was only 17 when he did that :D

Frag, you couldn't have told it wasn't written by an adult in any way. The kid has a vocabulary. He's definitely gifted.

I've read it. It's not bad at all. It satisfied my fantasy fix for a week which is all I ask of a book.
