Makes me want to find a JAG bbd just to complain.

Golly geez, when I look at how he unitentionally ended BG (he wrote HoG); how Quantum Leap ended and now JAG--I think he's as in love with his characters and their stories and as unwilling to let them end as WE are.

He better go make that Quantum Leap movie. It's the only way I'm going to forgive that midair coin freeze. GRRRRRR.

Jewels,
Just think of it this way...he left it open for either a movie or for the series to return.

That's sort of my point: he always leaves himself an opening that lets a story go any way that he has available cast for later. Aaaaaaaargh.

It's time for the QL movie.

I have been covering jag at pacifica. The few articles I found are here:

It looks like they decided that without Elliott the show would bomb so they ended it.

Well, as for Hand of God, I believe that they wrote and filmed it prior to knowing that the show was cancelled, wasnt it?

As for JAG, I think it was a good ending. Let's face it, if someone had won and we knew where they were going, half the audience would be happy and the other half would be angry!!!!

This way, everyone knows that Harm and Mac would be together, just not knowing WHERE. It's OK to me...

Hand of God was just the way the cookie crumbled: it wasn't a planned finale.

OK, I'll give you that one half will be angry if they'd settled the coin toss.

The JAG general had told them that "no one was off limits" as far as their own staff, I was waiting for them to say: Let Sarah take her post and Harm not take the promotion OR let Harm take the promotion and let Sarah be his 2nd in command.

It is good that they'd both be together and they can do anything they want to the story in the future if they care to add to it.

Yeah, I had thought about that as well. Why not take the other one with them to the new JAG office and they can still work together?? That would have worked OK as well...

As a woman who has a husband in the Navy reserves, I do believe military regs would have not allowed it. I am sure of it but don't quote me on it as I really do not know! Think back to when Bud and Harriet were working at JAG and then they got married, she had to transfer to another division to stay at JAG.

I tend to think the coin landed between the floorboards on edge.

I was hoping that they'd continue the show with Mac as the central character (like they did in the Bionic Woman) with other characters rotating in and out. Pehaps they could have brought Harm in for the ratings-sweeps-episodes.

I thought I read a rumour somewhere stating that Bellisarius was thinking of a JAG: San Diego, or something like that. Any one else read/hear about this?

I believe that was the rumor mill if the show had kept on going. They would have possibly based it out of San Diego with Mac as the lead character.

And for Harm coming back, since he signed his deal with ABC, I don't think DJE would be allowed to come back to another network's show...even if for a guest appearance.

I just wanted to know who ended up giving up their career so they could move wherever it was decided on by the coin toss!

episode where new general is coming in. Sort of like the MASH Fade In, Fade Out episode, but in a good way.
Interesting to hear about JAG-San Diego. Yeah, I'd be watching quite faithfully. I am a fan of Mac.
And yes I can see where it would be difficult to have Harm guest-star. It wouldn't work well for the networks in the short-term. But might up its value on the syndication market.
But what do I know? I like the show and will watch the summer reruns.
