Oooooooooooooh! This gives me an idea... Anybody up for an anti-mini-watchathon December 8th? We could all watch the same episode of the original (and only) BSG, and send chat to each other from time to time during the watching, using a single thread here at CF...

I FINALLY got the BSG game today!!!!!
Guess what happened????? My eight year old son took it as soon as I opened it. All I heard was COOL MOM it's Battlestar!
That was a while ago.
I just went to tell him its bed time.
He didn't like putting the game away, but that's normal around here.
so, I asked him how he liked the game and he said it was sooooooooooo cool. and it way really realistic. And also that I wouldn't last five microns if I were playing it.
He made it to the second level, now I will have to pratice when he is gone just to prove to him that MOM CAN last longer than five microns

I lasted about "15 microns", Serriously just put me on an argo ship where I won't have to battle.
I don't think I'm ging to make it in a viper . I ran right into the Galactica and blew up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (glad my son did not see that)!

Going back to give it another try, Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!

I used to be good at Afterburnner, but that was a "LONG" time ago. (fifteen or so years)

It's going to take me a long time on this one, but It is worth every penny........

Hi Boxey! No the game I got is for the ps2, it is really great.
I'm not watching that piece or junk either. Game codes , I'll just have to get them on my own ( that may take a while)

I have looked around for cheats on the net. Usually you can find them within a week of a product's release. However I don't see any right now. I imagine someone will watch the mini and post them, so it is probable we can expect to see them after Monday. (Hopefully!)

I think this is a bit different than my idea, since mini watchers will be chatting too, and I was thinking of discussing a TOS ep only. Hmm... what'd'ya think? Now I'm not sure what to do...

I can chat and watch the mini series at the same time. Besides, if my fingers are on my laptop keyboard, I can't be throwing things at the TV screen.

So true. I chatted, but when I logged off to go to bed, I broke down and watched part of it. Then I fell asleep. The next night, I tried to watch it again. Believe it or not, everytime I sat down to watch, there was a sex scene. I just couldn't get into it so I turned the channel...but one thing I definitely got from it was that it is being prepped for a regular series.....

I did see part of night two, in my honest opinion is was bad acting just like the lowdown showed. It was Tigh and Katee close to the end when she spoke off the record. Just a few minutes proved to me that tis mini could have been so much more than what it had become. Potiential to reach new fans as well as fans of the original was lost.
If people like this mini so be it, that is their choice. I truly accept their views but for me I can not stomach what has been done to Galactica.


Sorry about the rant. It is time to move on toward the future right?

I don't think there were to many people that were thrilled with it...even those that supported it.

I was watching the Skiffy board very closely myself, as an alternative to actually watching the mini. At the outset, it looked pretty bad for the mini. Nearly every post of about 200 posts was /really/ negative, some even brutal. That went on thru the first showing and half of the second. Then suddenly all the negatives went away and there were a ton of positives. That was about 9:00 PST or so. It was REALLY weird to see things change so drastically all of a sudden. I almost wondered if they'd changed the show half way thru the second showing.

If they did start censoring to try and handle things, I can't say I'd blame 'em too much, although I don't believe in censoring myself. (Not unless someone is using rampant profanity or lewdness and in that case pro or con I think it should be censored or something).

Of the few minutes I saw it...the special effects were good. I did see the part where Adama had to stop a fire from spreading and sacrificed the lives of men and women to save the ship. You could see them being blown out into space. It really touched on the harsh reality of being in command. But that was the one part I saw. It got boring after that so I turned it off.

Sorry to be away, but I have been taking it easy after my car accident last Saturday. Today my daughter learned that one of her friends was killed in a car accident on Wednesday and that just hit to close to home.....
Well, I am back and I'll try to get here everyday. I quit my second job . I was coming home from it when I was hit so I think that is fates way of saying that I really don't need the extra money....

By the way, a friend of mine across the street, his nephew was killed just last week and I was hired to do a memorial painting of him. Good kid, just no seatbelt.
