Gideon's BG2 3D Schematics...
Okay, being new and a bit goofy at times, I think that I should just have one thread devoted to the new BG 3d ship schematics. It will prove good for everyone else that way, not to mention myself on posting anything new. I usually am more tidy on these type things. I hate to leave a trail of art on any forum/gallery, or the like, not tomention it being hard for people to find stuff. So, unless anyone objects, I will endeavor to do this.
Later today, I will re-post the first two schematics in this thread, but show just small thumbnails with links to the full-sized schematics under them. I am also going to post two more; the Viper Mk2 and the Shuttle Mk2.
Happy Hunting!!

Gideon,
What's your source for the stenciling and markings for these images? I'd like to produce some decals for my Viper models and I'd some ideas to help flesh out the details.
Thanks!

I got most of the pics off of a 3d Model site -I have a model I got back in '03 of the Viper mk2 with all of the markings and textures, but I'll have to zip it all up and send it to you tomorrow (I'm at work now). PM me your email address.

Long time reader, only a few time poster, but Cylon Raider works for me... The only other one that I would like to see is the Viper MkVII. I am just not sure if there are enough views available like there were for the Viper MkII. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments, folks! I am planning to have the Raider schematic finished Monday or Tuesday.
As for the Viper MkVII - man... I agree! That would be so cool! I hope to find some good shots of her myself... usable to make a schem of that for everyone. I am also (on the side) making a fun little game I like to call Battlestar GALAXIAN, which I only have two viper styles to use right now. MkVII and Stealthy would fit so cool into that plan as well. Still, it is a long process to make games that look professional and are practical too. It took me two years to complete "Defiant Rocks!" (a Trek-DS9 version of Asteroids), which still might be available on an old site somewhere. But this NBG game is going to be cool when I get time to finish it. Seeing the title, you can guess what it is, eh? More on this later.
Also... there may be the chance that I might get the views of the new Pegisus CGI and/or the "stealth Viper" as well. Keep your safeties open, friends.

I also agree... I look forward to seeing them all, but I am REALLY looking forward to seeing the Viper MkVII, new Pegasus and the stealth Viper. This is if they will still be allowed on this forum with the closing of the TNS boards. I apologize if this is no longer supposed to be posted here since it has something to do with TNS. It is not my intension to bring up TNS show/episodes or anger anyone… I am a big fan of ship diagrams, images of them and I like the ships in TNS. The work I have seen so far is great and I hope that it will be allowed to continue.
Gideon, if they are not going to be posted here please let me know where you will be posting them because I very much look forward to seeing any new ones that you do. Keep up the good work!

Gideon -
I just want you to know how much your wonderful work is appreciated here. Such talent with a PC, I'll probably never even come close to equalling it!
I know that things have been kind of weird here the past couple of days, but please don't deny us the pleasure of seeing more of your work. There's a place in the Gallery any day for such great art!
Regards,
Bryan
P.S. - I'm still jealous of the avatar!

I do not know whether this will be allowed to stay or not, myself.
Don B. or someone with mercy please allow this thread to stay. We can change the name. I can do up some cgi schematics like these with tos ships in them too so that it mostly stays on the proper subject. It took me a while to get all of the schems in one thread, I am not that great at this html stuff.
Someone higher up Email me and let me know.
I submit to anything you would have me do.

Gideon, I don't think you have any thing to worry about. We can debate what the designs should have been but it's not the models or CGI that is the problem. It's the way Ron Moore is handling a universe and characters he didn't create.
My understanding is Colonial Fleets embraces the art!

I would hope that the work done by Lee S. and others would be well accepted and even longed for. My design work on these schematics is for anyone. When I got on the net in '92, and years following, I spent hours looking for things like this and never found any. So, I do this so others can come here and not be disappointed like I was.

No worries regarding this thread.... It'll stay - even if I have to stand guard over it!
There's no problem with the art whether it be TOS or TNS inspired, so there's no issue as to whether your art is welcome.
As I said, we can host it here in the Finished Artwork forum or put it up in the Gallery - maybe even both.
Don said publicly in another thread that he didn't want anyone to feel the need to leave, nor take their resources with them. It's not about the fans at all.
Just keep doing what you've been doing!
Best,
Bryan

Sweet work Gideon, I am very impressed with your work at Trekbbs.. Vixtor I have heard of because of his Star Trek Conne mesh at Sci-fi meshes. (which I have been looking for in Lightwave for a while with no luck) are you a Max user also for your
designs .. there is a lot to read there so I thought I just ask

Believe it or not (and I shudder to even mention this), I put the original starship together pixel-by-pixel in Ulead Photo-impact, but sense I have now at least gotten comfortable with Max... enough to maybe do the task of texturing that bad girl. Eh... maybe not. I'll see.
Rick Sternbach has shown his face a few times in the thread and commented pretty good on Grandeur-A's progress, not to mention he said he will write the forward when I get the USS Grandeur-A Tech-Manual layout under way. I use QuarkXpress to lay out that.
