I saw your work, Taranis. Pretty good! With some practice on a few things you'll be up there with some of the best soon.

What I saw, and see around the net a lot, is most of the focus on the ship in the images... let me explain. Yes, the ships are the focus of each pic done this way, but with some decent background work, lighting to match that background, and some purpose in the scene, you'll have a much better shot, I believe. Don't take this wrong, you're good. I'm just helping with the 22+ years of real-world design experience I've been blessed with. The on-looker wants to be pulled into the scene. They need the artist to show them what their mind wants to see. Approach it from an angle like you are taking a shot right from an episode. Have some type of interaction with the ship in the picture, get everything to match and you end up with something more pleasing and interesting to the viewer.

That's my two cubits worth. I am interrested in your work, my friend.
Happy Hunting!

NP! I hope what I said wasn't completely useless. It's hard to do that when everyone else is looking on. I hate to embarrass or PO anyone!

I don't see why not. I haven't posted over there in months. Vektor's working on another project right now. The Grandeur-A project has been developing for two years now and I'm sure he wanted a break.

Yeah, go right ahead. Can't hurt. See what people think... or should I say... see what Klingons think?

Those were supplied by Charles Adams. I just put em in schematic form over the week end. They could be Zoic Studios, I don't know.

The Original series Colonial Viper gotten here off the site. Also the pic insert is by Illusion's Tigerclaw.

I had to do a decent patch though. There wasn't one big enough to use...

Right-click and Download the right schematic to your hard-drive now>>>

No when I tried it the Trek ship came up to. The Starship Thyla which also look inventive and sleek.. I never tried to download it before now.. (tring to do some harddrive cleaning and orginise my picture files its amazing how much you
accumulate over time.) ..

Gideon I would like to see a picture of the Colonial pistol (TOS) and other Eqipment they used.. if you care to try

Is the Thyla your own design?? is cool looking

SORRY, friends! The picture link works now.
I am working on my website, which has these type of schematics from different sci-fi genres. Yes, the USS T'Hy'La and it's views were all rendered by me from a model that was made for the International Federation of Trekkers fan-club chapter of the same name. The IFT is a world renown organization of which I belonged to as the head of graphics, in the latter part working only for the president himself. I designed many of their logos, websites, and ship designs that came and went. Several chapters even had ship classes we know today that were specifically sanctioned to them by various authorities of Paramount at one time or another. I have since retired from IFT to go on.

Anyway, I will put the link to the site up when it is ready. I am sure that you can find your way around by some back door, but understand that it is just in it's birthing stages and if a pic link doesn't work, don't fret. I have many schematics on various hard-drives and just have to get them to the web folders so they can be shared with all.

I'm not going to be the one to get into this discussion, nor the one to refuse info or material to anyone - that's why I do these schematics. So that designers and artist can use them as a reference. I have searched far and wide for some of these, as well as turned design favours for others. Some CGI designers I am affiliated with, one way or another, others don't know me from Adam. I do have most of all of the ships in the schematics I've done... still in their raw form, but it would take me a while to find an exact view in over 10 Gb of folder dedicated to CGI ship views alone.

I am sorry if that sounds harsh, I DO NOT wish it to be. I just don't have the time. I am nearly spending all my time as it is with getting these posted. My suggestions would be either trim the views you need out of the background, or be an internet Sherlock Holmes and go find them. There are a lot ov views out there, even in these Colonial Fleets Galleries.

As far as schem-ing THE Galactica... soon. There just isn't any artist I know of who has dedicated time to doing a hi-res model of her or I haven't reached that point of awareness yet. However, that is a LARGE priority of mine... at least in this area of my life.
