Default Dark Exodus Teaser Trailer...

It is finally done, folks....

...the first teaser trailer for the movie that will probably never be. (And judging by the hokey visuals, should probably NEVER get done.) LOL! The first teaser trailer for Battlestar Galactica: Dark Exodus is available at my Yahoo group. But in order to see the trailer, you have to join my group. (which costs nothing but a few minutes of your time to get registered.)

It is hokey...I will warn you that. But I am praying that this lights yet another spark of hope for those longing for a continuation film of the beloved Classic Battlestar Galactica.

Enjoy (hopefully)

Steve -

That was fun! Kinda gave me a bit of a chill seeing a "movie" promo for BSG.... If you had a bit more sophisitcated VFX for the promo, it would be first rate!

I loved your story - too bad you can't sell it to a studio to produce. You've got the script, a movie poster and a promo. The only thing you're missing is the film itself.

By the way, that movie poster you designed - if there was an inexpensive way to print up a full size version and frame it, I would definitely hang it in a prominent place! I love seeing that poster!

It was worth joining the group to download and watch it - you're one of the most enthusiastic and comprehensive BSG fans, I've ever seen!

Happy Holidays!
Bryan

Thumbs up

Thank you Bryan. Nice to see that it had an impact. (God, I wish I did have more sophisticated VFX equipment.) The nice thing is, the more and more I work with the stuff I do have, the better at it I get.

I had planned for a lot more footage to be in the teaser, but it looks like I will be making an extended teaser somewhere down the road.

I am so thrilled that you love that poster as intensely as you do. I wish I could make it into a giant marquee sized poster. That would be sweet.

And this resulted in a five member jump in my group in less than five hours after making the initial post . BAM!

What I would really like to do is make the last few seconds of the trailer (the Galactica movie logo with the effects) an avatar for me on some of the other Galactica groups. (Hey, it's free advertising.)

I must admit, low tech visuals aside, I am pretty proud of this little endeavor. Two months (not solid 24/7 work, but constant) and I was able to make a frame by frame animation that runs almost a minute and a half.

Thanks again for the kind words, Bryan. I hope (definitely hope) that more people will enjoy this humble little fanwork....and perhaps it will fire up more interest in Dark Exodus again.

Sept17th, I look forward to hearing what you thought of the teaser.

Respectfully, and with greatest humility, (and definitely Happy Holidays)
Martok2112 (Steve)

Wink

BTW, you could always make that poster into a wallpaper on your PC.

Respectfully,
Steve

Happy Holidays

Hey Marty,

I just checked it out, and I must pass on my congratulations. It is a fair critism that the VFX aren't the strongest, but practice will make perfect...and I encourage you to do more !

If I may give one piece of constructive critism, and that is that you have said it is unlikely the movie will ever be made, but put 'Coming Soon' at the end of the trailer. I would advise against this, because if an Film Exec checks it out, and sees 'Coming Soon' and comes back later and doesn't see a movie...They might think that the interest wasn't there to finish it ?

I guess it is like makes a promise you know will probably never be fulfilled, it can only lead to unnessesary dissappointment....

But I wish you the best of luck in developing this....

I understand that concern, ernie. Yeah, that probably was a faux pas...I guess I shoulda put more of a disclaimer at the front that this preview is a fanwork only...and this is not an actual movie preview. I think I will do that. The only reason I put "Coming Soon" on there was just to make it feel like more of a teaser. Hopefully the disclaimer will offset that.

Glad you liked the trailer, nonetheless...and thanks for the advice.

Respectfully and appreciatively,
Martok2112
