Cool. I just pre-ordered my set. Now, if there was just some way to erase the sneak peak of the new mini from the extras I would be one happy camper.

Kingfish you are right. The link is broken today. And manual search turns up the old incorrect BSG notify item which doesn't say if it's a boxed set or not.

As Bewitched would say, "My stars!". Is BSG bewitched or what? First Amazon lists it incorrectly so anybody looking wouldn't know whether to sign up or not, and now it's simply gone.

Truly odd.

Default Better hurry and order BSG on DVD now!

"Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Epic Series" is no longer listed @ amazon.com.

I would venture a guess on this, Universal did limit the "Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Epic Series" to 100,000 copies. So hurry up & hit http://www.dvdplanet.com/main.asp while you still can.

I hope someone @ Universal gets the idea that this not because of the new production. I am so damn sure that “She-Bitch from Hell Demon” aka Bonnie Hammer is taking credit for TOS DVD’s not even reaching store shelves.

I hope that ‘sleeping giant’ line from Ronald D. Moore shall comes back & bite him on the ass. When fans see that, Starbuck is a girl! Colonel Tigh is a drunk? What happened to the robotic Cylons?

Hey everyone -

I had just found out about the Amazon.com fiasco yesterday morning. I see that it is still available at this point at DVDPlanet.com - a question... Is is considered a "pre-order" like on Amazon.com and won't get charged until it ships, or do they charge you up front and then send it out when it is in stock? If anyone knows, I would appreciate it very much.

By the way - I did a little search on my own using this:

http://www.dvdpricesearch.com/cgi-bin/dvdhtml2

They had two other listings for "BSG - The Epic Series". One was at BestPrices.com:

http://www.uln.com/cgi-bin/vlink/025192307126IE

Their price was only $83.30 (.69 less than DVDPlanet). They do take pre orders and also charge for shipping.

The other listing was at DVDEmpire.com:

http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_item.asp?olduserid=00000065869364&item_id=541020&userid=00000065869364&redir=1

Their price was not so great - it was 95.98 (only a 24.00 savings). They also take pre orders and charge for shipping.

All the best,
Bryan

Default Very Funny

I remember signing up for the notification for ordering the set at Amazon.com but never did receive e-mail notification like some on this board. I wonder if they somehow had a glitch in their systems.

I put my order in today at DVDPlanet.com.

Now, I'll be able to watch the REAL Battlestar Galactica while skiffy is airing the fake one.

Flamingo Girl,

According to DVDPlanet, your card is charged when the item is shipped (ordered mine on Friday). Since that is not until October 21, hopefully that will give you some time to come up with enough money. Also, hopefully, it will be available at additional retailers as the release date nears.

Default The Cover Art

I am quite curious as to what it will look like. I am wondering if they are using the same box art as they planned when they were releasing the series down under(Australia).

Don't be afraid to contact retailers like Target and Walmart and ask them about stocking the DVD box set. See their customer service web pages pages. (When I emailed Walmart, I also warned them to be cautious about stocking toys for the miniseries since it is both despised by many original series fans and not a show for family viewing which would decrease toy demand twofold.)

If the retailers are clamoring for them, it will be hard for Uni to justify only making 100,000 of something. Remember Uni. had a lot of P.O.ed customers AND retailers after that Back to the Future snafu last Christmas.

Just make very, very sure you're not asking about the mini- that's been posted on Amazon.com, too.

If it is, cancel your request.

Default Different Battlestar Galacticas @ amazon

This is a good idea, be sure to say ya want "Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Epic Series" not the new one coming up on The Scifi Channel, not Battlestar Galactica 2003. Univesal is calling it Battlestar Galactica, don't be confused, someone wrote a good review of "Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Epic Series" under "The not yet made show".

I remember receiving an email from amazon.com notifying me that "The Children of Dune" was going to be released on DVD. This email was a computer generated 'do not reply' message but I did anyway to the www.amazon.com I put Universal DVD, TV & Scifi's email address in the To: email address. I posted that the quality of programming on Scifi was in decline, and not to send me updates on Universal DVD's including the new production by The Scifi Channel's new Battlestar Galactica 2003.

Watch out Universal has plans to release the not even made Galactica 2003 on DVD

Battlestar Galactica (lite)
Availability: NOT YET RELEASED: The studio is currently not producing this title on DVD, but to be notified when it is available, enter your e-mail address at right. You'll also be voting for this release; we'll let the studio know how many customers are waiting for this title.

Confusion @ amazon, a review of TOS listed under Scifi's BSG lite.

Just proves my point. Thanks, dvo.

BE CAREFUL of what you're looking at. Universal will be very happy to use misplaced interest as fuel to show how popular the remake is.

If you have put your address in for notification on the listing dvo has posted ("BSG directed by Michael Rymer"), cancel your request, now.

Can I be any more emphatic?

I am writing a pre-review of bg lite to post @ amazon.com. Singer/DeSanto then DeSanto had BSG taken away by attrition & sneak attack. From the/a X-Men guys to a Trek guy to save money?

Default Up the Creek Without A Paddle

Looks like the only way to get the DVD set is by using a credit card, which is something I don't have. Looks like if Suncoast doesn't get the DVD sets, I'll have to resort to thistlehillmedia.com for the unofficial discs which most of the episodes are from the original ABC broadcasts(with original commercials & network promos). The remaining episodes are uncut from syndication. Looks like Universal has did it to the fans again. Some of us, anyway.
