ABC goes West Point
Network to develop military pilot

ABC might have itself a new dramatic TV series. The network and Touchstone Television bought the rights to Dave Lipsky's ABSOLUTELY AMERICAN non-fiction book, chronicling the day-to-day life of West Point cadets over the course of four years. Lipsky will begin writing a one-hour pilot script creating fictional characters but drawing on his experiences observing the West Point officers in training.


Once Lipsky submits his script to ABC, a showrunner will be hired to move the project on to the next level of development. ABSOLUTELY AMERICAN is currently on the New York Times bestseller list.
