I've said this many times before. My own take on it is that this miniseries is simply an advertisement to Hollywood for what Ronald D. Moore believes is his talent. He saw an opportunity to use the BSG brand name as a protective sheild for his ideas. This way if it fails, he'll just say that there was never any interest in BSG. If it succeeds, then he'll collect the accolades of his peers. He can't really loose here. This mini isn't about BSG. It's about Ronald D. Moore screaming to studio execs like a 5 year old on a swing set yelling at his parents, "Look what I can do!" Well, he can't do much, can he.
