Default Battlestar Galactica: The Test

Will the test be scientific, no? Will the test mean anything significant, no? Will the test change anything, no? Will I conduct the test anyway, yes?

The test subject, my new bride who has found memories of watching Battlestar Galactica reruns with me when we dated in high-school, circa 1984. I would not classify her as fan of sci-fi or Galactica, which she has not seen since those old days.

The test, this week we will watch Saga of a Star World then the mini-series. I will stay silent during the viewing and until I have had her complete the questionnaire.

The test Part Two, if she feels comfortable with the idea after watching the mini-series I will conduct the same experiment on her nine-year old Yu-Gi-Oh/Poke`mon/Chi-Pokemon/Ling-Ling loving son.

Ten to 1 that the kid thinks they are the same show.

btw- I'm not sure the test isn't already moot. The new show is suppose to be very different from the miniseries. Less blatant sex. Starbuck is less antagonistic. Apollo doesn't clash with his father over Zac no more. And Tigh is more of a command officer, than a jerk. More focus on characters.

I've heard several people say how they hated the miniseries but really like the new show.

Tonight part one viewing Saga with my new bride, I also snuck in the first hour of Lost Planet of the Gods her son joined us for that.

She chuckled at the antics of Starbuck enjoying the steam purge immensely. During Lost Planet she was heard saying of Apollo, “why doesn’t he fly out the way he came in”?

While I am not surprised at the out come. I am surprised that my wife did not find a single element of the Mini-Series better than Saga of a Star World even I the Purist type appreciate the Ragnar ending.

She chuckled at the sex of the mini and said she expected Kara and Lee to start making out through the brig cell bars.

She had a bad reaction to Six and the baby, I had not heard the bone snap the first two viewings.

she found the original Starbuck charming and did not like Kara Thrace.

Warrior, she did not notice any real difference between Viper versions.

She would not allow her nine year-old to watch the Mini-Series.
