Martok's Brush with Fame....part deux!!!
Well, folks, tonight was another incredible night at the Famous Door in Bourbon St.
Who should happen to walk in the door, and watch us play but Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist for some years, and now with Black Label Society).
Another cool dude. Humble, gracious, and a man of faith. One of my guitar players, Tim, and my bass player, Robert, and myself got our picture taken with Zakk, and it will be posted on our website soon.
www.rockboxmusic.com
Our other guitar player, Roger, could not make it there, but Zakk gave him serious props when he watched us play. Roger is a bad-ass, and Zakk let him know it on no uncertain terms. Hello! Roger was in 7th Heaven!!!
Zakk even gave me props for singing Steve Perry. I couldn't believe it. Most gracious indeed.
Pardon me while I trip some more.
Life is certainly good for this Klingon rocker.
Trippin',
Martok2112

I feel ya, brother.
I remember when I joined one particular band a few years ago, the bassist wanted me to get my hair cut, so I did. Initially, after the cut, I looked like Johnny Resznik from Goo Goo Dolls, but I couldn't keep it looking that way...so after I quit that band a couple months later (over other issues...like reunifying my old band in WV), I decided to grow my hair out again.
Heh...and my hair even was given blonde streaks when I got it cut...some of the streaks are still there to this day...but not as pronounced.
Respectfully, and empathically,
Martok2112

So your guitarist just happened to be wearing a Black Label Society t-shirt the night that Zakk walked in the door? You think maybe he's psychic? Start wearing tin foil in your hat dude, I think he can read minds!
Cool pic. Next time, you guys should jump him and steal me that vest

The keyboard player in the Ozzy Osbourse band and Black Sabbath is one of my best friends...both in the music industry and the 'real world'....I'll find out then the next tour date is that brings them close to Bourbon St. and I'll try and send him your way....
Now you just need to get them to get up and jam with you, get it recorded, and get it cleared for release....I'm pleased that your playing is giving you so much pleasure....

Frag,
Actually, Tim knew that they were playing that night at the House O' Blues, so he wore that T-shirt to show his support, should Zakk have come through the door.
Ernie, believe me, if we see someone famous come through the door, we will try our best to see if they would like to jam on stage. Tom Keiffer of Cinderella has an open invitation to come up and jam with us next time he's in town, which as I understand it is quite frequent. That's too cool that you are so closely tied to fame yourself. ROCK ON!!!
Respectfully,
Martok2112

Zakk's beard is as long as your hair....
*wants to grab a scissors for a beard trimming* Na, he'd not appreciate that.
