Default BSG Direct to DVD Campaign Trailer

Okay, this is stage two of the campaign for a brand new DVD-only adventure of the original Battlestar Galactica!

I’ve cooked up a trailer that is available as an mpeg and avi, they can be downloaded here:

http://www.colonialfanforce.org/video/BSG2.mp4

http://www.colonialfanforce.org/video/BSG2.avi

If you’ve got your own website please provide a link or host the trailer yourself.

Spread the word to every outpost of human existence, and most importantly write.

Thanks to Commander Taggart for hosting the files and RGrant for the advice.

Best,

Peter

Thank you. It's from a Blackadder/DS9 cross over fanfic. I think I have it up in my fanfic section.

Also, got ya mirrored!

Somebody at Skiffy's TOS board linked the trailer to their SF site, which until today I'd never heard of!

Check it out at: http://www.jonja.net/cms/modules/news/

Well done!

Cool Trailer Peter.

I've been seeing a lot more sci fi news pod casts out there as of late and with the latest edition of your trailer to the sudden boost of original BSG fan efforts,

Maybe one of the next steps would be to get the gang together here and Launch a mission that would consist of writing a news article titled something like, "the fans of the Original Battlestar Galactica just won't quit" then make a list of all the emails for all these different Sci fi news cast shows like Slice of sci fi, The sci fi zone and Sci fi overdrive just to name a few. Then devide the list of emails up, copy and past the news article to them. We could even make this into a post-athon where we come back here and report on the mission just like we did at the old Galactica thread on the sci fi channel board for the petition drive.

Of course we could send this article to the Sci fi magazines of the world too, that include what we find on the net .

Ian, this is where you chime in my friend.

The latest slew of fan efforts would be included such as Sandy and his first of many new professionally done audio episodes of the Exodus series, Bill and his Radio IFB podcasts, The launch of
ernie90125 Battlestar Galactica fan films site, the live action mini episodes produced and acted in by Charybdis and of course, Your trailer for a direct to DVD. I'm sure there are more to add.

Plus I have a 7 1/2 minute comedy audio almost done. I will have to finish it up sometime soon.

Anyway, it's an Idea. We have all banded together before for online missions and got a lot done.
I think it might be time for another.

OWD,

I like the article idea.......

I like the 7 1/2 minute comedy audio........do you have a expected completion date ?

I also like the idea of a banding together online mission......as I've been trying to encourage those with CGI abilities to do just that......I'd certainly support an article like you've described.

BSG for the fans....by the fans !

OWD,

Thanks for praise, I can't wait to hear what you've cooked up.

I asked CT about something that involves writing (non-fiction), Battlestar Galactica, and furthers the reputation of Battlestar Galactica. We'll see what comes of it in the next few months.

Best,

Peter

I have it pretty well done and all I have to do is add some background sound effects. The only problem is that it's a bit aimed towards an R rating and I might have to cut a scene or put a parental advisory in front of it.

You see, it's a what if kind of comedy. What if Ron Moore kept his story line but fired his actors and hired the original actors from Battlestar Galactica.

This sets up some pretty funny scenes but the one between Starbuck and Apollo, even though I still Laugh my A$$ off at it, may be a little too much.

I will send it around first for some test listening and see what some opinions are before I decide on what to cut.

I would take a stab at writing the article my self but I'm definitely not writer material. However, as soon as it's done by who ever steps up to the plate to write it, I will Organize the postathon and work on the list of Emails.

I've added the link to the trailer to one of my blogs over at MySpace. Yeah, I signed up for it. A friend of mine talked me into it. What the heck, right?
