Battlestar Galactica 1978 Space Channel Commercial

Once I had heard the Space Channel in Canada was running original series commercials, I e-mailed them asking for a copy to post here at Fleets, to help promote the show on their channel.

They responded, and now, thanks to them, I hereby present "The Out Of Work Cylon".

AVI FORMAT (uses DivX)

MP4 FORMAT (for Quicktime, uses mp4 compresion)

Right click and Save As.

Enjoy, and if you're in Canada and get the Space Channel, be sure to tune in and watch the original Battlestar Galactica!

OMG...I love it! Now that's the kind of clever advertising you won't see on Skiffy. I'll have to save that one.

That was a hoot and a blast to see!

The Space Channel really knows how to promote a classic TV show...

A bit of class and a bit of humour will get folks every time!

Did they make more? I hope so....

Best,
Bryan

Space is generally pretty good at marketing the older shows While it runs TOS, there will probably be a different promo every few months...

I agree, dear one... hats off to them

Arch, lemme know if others are shown/have been shown. If so, I'll ask them about those too.

Bry, if there are no others, then we'll just have to make our own!

Whilst I'm sitting here watching the tail end of "Lost Warrior" ( brag brag brag ) I do notice that Space runs about 2 different promos for BSG. They did when the show was on a couple years ago. THEN they touted it as the "most requested series in the history of Space"
But seeing the "Battlestar Galactica CLASSIC" logo pop up...man that was sweet
If I see a different promo then the one they're showing, I'll let ya know D

Kudos, btw, for snaggin' it from Space. Canadians are SO nice aren't they?

Warrior, where can we email them to thank them for the wonderful promo? And encourage them to submit it to the Communication Arts advertising annual competition. That was a really good piece of ad work, it just might merit professional mention.

jewels, i'm not sure I should post the e-dress of the one I actually got the file from, as it looks like a personal company e-mail addy.

But when I requested it, that e-mail was sent through their web page (for the channel, not the web site. Two diff contacts there). The web site channel contact is what I'd recommend.

Now now, Edmonton's rather nice this time of year.

Not a bad city, really...but they do have a lousy hockey team though.

The commercial is great, and it's nice to see that Space was able to put something like this together. It was good seeing the old guys getting out and stretching their legs--so to speak. The commercial had the right level of irreverence that made it fun to watch.

Ok , thats something I would PAY to see..... A reality show based in unreality... Something like comedy central's (Is it comedy central?) animated "Drawn Together" except less gross..... I can see it now.... The Apprentice: Out of Work Sci-fi edition. Or something along those lines.
I just want to see a cylon, Mark Hamill, A serpent Guard (Stargate SG1) , Guy in a Godzilla Costume, Erin Grey, abd any one else someone can think of trying to make it in big buisness IN CHARACTER.
