Should Battlestar Galactica: 14th Colony keep the original series terms for time and distance? Personally I always like them but over the years it seems they rub people wrong…not chimp in a robot dog suit wrong but rubbed wrong nonetheless. I do assure you that the suffix tron will not be added to all technology.

IMHO, one of the things that made BSG TOS what it was, was the language. It was as much of a signature of the show as the uniforms. If you lose it, you lose part of the feel.

I absolutely agree that the terms for time should be kept. Its part of the show.

And when they changed them for Gal80 it didn't go down well with fans !

Please keep them.

Keep em'.

They add enough flavor to the language to make the Colonial culture seem foreign as it should, but not too much that it makes them seem alien.

Looks like the terms are a keeper. As KA said, it was the lexicon of the genre. It made the series unique from any other show, before or since. It would be like changing Spock's ears from pointy to normal, IMHO. It just would not be the same. I also agree with Lara's point as well.

Keep'em.

But as Lara's pointed out, just don't make them so heavy handed is all. Things only get to be so cheesy if they're blatantly made out to be so is all?

Voted keep them.

I like'em however the need to use them where ever possible, and even when exceedingly cheesy I think is what rubbed people the wrong way. BSG seemed really bad for plopping their own words in places that they would stick out like a sore thumb, and seem redundant

When I saw this in 'New Posts' I thought it was a new poll, I rushed here to help influence the direction of BSG's most exciting venture, maybe even vote against re-casting Adama, but hey ho its just the old 100% of people say don't meddle with the time units thread !

Start a thread with another trailer and I'll be there like a shot !
