Default Glen A Larson: A Few Nice Things To Say!

For a variety of reasons Glen A Larson will never be held in the esteem of a Gene Rodenberry or Rod Serling.

Let us not forget though, that Mr Larson was one of, if not the top producers of popular hour-long action/adventure shows at one stage, in the world!

I hate to think of how much money he's made for Universal Studios (primarily).

Even his shows that lasted one or half a season have proven popular in various foreign markets.

Being British, if you saw Glen's name on something you knew you'd be entertained for 45 minutes/an hour.

Battlestar Galactica in my country is probably not as popular as Buck Rogers was!

Other Larson delights over here have been: Quincy, Knight Rider, Alias Smith and Jones, Cover-up and Automan!

Regards,

Peter

I can't help but wonder what he thinks of this whole 'reimagining' business....

We do owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Larson, Peter, you're right. Without him, we would never have BSG. Whatever has happened since, I am thankful for the original vision he chose to share with us.

Given the history I think we owe thanks and praise to Don Bellesaro(sp) as he was the guy who probably had more of a hand in getting the better Glen Larson shows on the air, including BSG.

So maybe both deserve our praise

That's a good point.

Praise to Mr Bellisario also!

Peter

Default Quincy

This was a great show with Jack Klugman in the role. It seems that Glen had better luck with non science fiction than with his space shows. It is sad. Galactica was destined for greatness but somehow never achieved it. I saw some of the season 2 scripts and was dumbfounded by the idea of Cain as an android.
